Fabulous , quirky getaway

The location was perfect for attending my sons passing out parade in altcar training camp, the hideaway was beautiful and quirky which we loved , our host Kim & jack are great … the hot tub was amazing and the street was really quiet so was a really lovely peaceful night away and would definitely come back

We weren’t a fan of the bed I found the bed too hard it hurt my hips so only lasted an hour and took myself off to the sofa but this is personal preference as some people love a hard bed and it hasn’t put me off returning again , the room I found a little cold it could benefit from a little heater at this time of year .

A lovely stay, in a really quirky, clean accommodation

This was a lovely little place. Really loved how it was decorated and it was really clean. The instructions from the owner were very clear and we found it and let ourselves in really easily. It's got everything you could possibly need in it, nice tech and 2 really good size tvs. Kim.answered any questions quickly via WhatsApp.

The squirel woods and formby beach aren't accessible at the moment and won't be until 2026. Obviously nothing to do with the owner, but worth noting. It was a shame we weren't allowed to use the hot tub on the morning of departure. When I questioned this the owner stated that it was because of cost. Personally, I think if you are paying for the accommodation until 10am you should be able to use the facilities until 10am.

Lovely quirky accommodation.

Lovely accommodation very quirky. Everything you needed cooker microwave kettle toaster. Bedlinen towels toiletries. Pots pans tableware cups glasses etc. Host was very informative easy instructions to enter the property. Nice outside space with hot tub.

Wasn't really a negative but the bathroom was downstairs.

The photos don’t do the place justice, kim had thought of everything.

Kim had thought of everything, the hot tub was lovely and ready when we arrived, there was towels and shower gel all there ready, the bedding was already on the bed, the kitchen was equipped with everything you could need. We loved the fact it had air con although we didn’t need to use it as there was a lovely breeze through the windows.

Communication from host was exceptional, full instructions given before my stay regarding access to the property, directions and guidelines regarding the rules and how everything worked within the property.

I could not find any faults, I really enjoyed our stay, and will be booking again.

Perfect little place for pure relaxation

Hot tub and having an Alexa device and free Netflix, the whole cosy feeling.

The Cobweb above the top of the stairs ( purely because of Spider phobia)

Idyllic getaway

The Squirrel Hideaway was such a lovely place , so relaxing and cosy. Absolutely cannot fault whatsoever

The communication with the host was second to none. Instructions to everything we needed to know down to the last detail. Minutes from the quaint village of Formby and the fabulous sand dunes . 10 out of 10 , a getaway we will cherish forever.

Fantastic, Exceeded Expectations!

Fantastic Stay for me and my partner, only had one night as a parents retreat but didnt take anything away from it, clean, cozy, quirky and the hot tub was fantastic!

Nothing we didnt like, slightly cold at night even with the heating on but thats the UK for you haha!
