    I had a very comfortsble stay. The rooms are nicely fitted out there is a light bright residents' lounge with an honesty bar. Big garden. Hotel is very short walk to to sea and only 5 min walk from the station.

    Great location, easy to find. Friendly helpful staff. Breakfast included which a bonus, and superb . Would recommend The Lerryn to my friends, I would definitely stay there again.

    I have been staying here for about 10years and I would say it is no where near as good as it used to be. It also felt a bit unloved, my room smelt very musty and the bathroom floor looked like it had only a very cursory clean as all the corners had been missed. There are no instructions for the coffee machine and it had been left with stale water in it so I had to clean it out before I tried to use it but gave up when I couldn't work it out. I did use the honesty bar once, as this is a feature I have always loved, but there was much less choice and when I took the glass upstairs I had to completely wash it up as it was thick with dust and smelt like it had been on the shelf for months. I stayed for 3 days and they didn't service my room once, and they didn't ask if anything was needed. As a result I had to go and borrow some toilet paper from the public disabled toilet on the ground floor and I had two days with no teabags, or milk etc. I was staying due to a family emergency and so it was quite stressful and then I was having to work all evening. I had picked a room that said it had a desk in it but there was only a dressing table and not chair that I could use to work at my laptop, so I was having to work sat on the bed. I would also say that the breakfast is not as good as it used to be either. My breakfast arrived luke warm each day, particularly the baked beans and the sausages were overcooked. On the last day I opted for coffee and a lovely cafetiere came but it too was luke warm so by the time milk was added it was cold. Such a shame, I feel very sad, but I will have to find somewhere else to stay in future. But I do think they need to look at what they are doing with open eyes because it seems very jaded to me and that is not what I would expect from a family run hotel.
