remm Akihabara

The location is excellent; the room is quite small but well-organized, and there is a massage chair in the room.

We stayed here for one night on August 13 before our flight back to our country on August 14. We were traveling from Osaka to Tokyo on the 13th, then flying home the following day. We chose Remm Akihabara because we wanted a convenient place to stay for our last night in Japan, and Akihabara is basically an anime fan’s paradise. By this point in our trip, we were already running low on energy and didn’t really feel like going too far from the hotel. Thankfully, Remm Akihabara did very well in that regard because almost everything we needed was within walking distance. It was also very easy to get to from Haneda Airport. The hotel is connected to a building with plenty of shops and restaurants. GU is right there, along with some great food options such as MO-MO-PARADISE. We didn't actually try it, but the smell coming from the restaurant was very tempting, especially with their all-you-can-eat shabu-shabu and sukiyaki hot pot. We decided to hold off because we were already nearing the end of our trip and felt like we had done enough overeating by then! Baskin-Robbins is also in the same building, so naturally, we had to get some ice cream. There’s also a Lawson at the bottom of the building, which was extremely convenient. It was raining during our stay, and the hotel kindly let us borrow an umbrella when we decided to walk around and grab dinner. We ended up going to Go Go Curry Akihabara, which was really good. Just be prepared to use the ordering machine. Personally, I think learning a little bit of the local language and understanding how things work is part of the fun and a small sign of respect when visiting another country. The hotel also has several amenities available at the front desk, including razors, toothbrushes, hairbrushes, and even an origami kit. They also provide sleepwear, which was another nice touch because we didn't have to open our luggage just to get something to sleep in. There’s no bathtub, but the rain shower was very nice. The TV was also pretty good. It starts with the settings in Japanese, but once you log into Netflix or YouTube, you can switch the interface to English. The only minor annoyance is that you have to log in again whenever you turn the TV off. There’s also a massage chair in the room, which was a nice bonus. However, it seems to be designed more for smaller body frames. I’m 180 cm tall and had a bit of difficulty fitting comfortably into it. The room itself is compact. We had two 65L check-in suitcases with us, so we definitely had to play a little game of Tetris to move around the room. That said, this is a short-stay hotel in the middle of Tokyo, and we weren't expecting a huge room. For one night, it was perfectly fine. The location was also great for our departure. We went to Ueno afterward to catch the JR Skyliner to Narita International Airport, so getting out of Tokyo was very convenient. They also have a 24-hour laundry area, which is great if you're traveling light and need to wash clothes during your trip. Overall, I’d definitely recommend Remm Akihabara, especially if you want to be right in the middle of the action. If you're a hardcore anime fan who wants to be surrounded by everything Akihabara has to offer, this could be an especially good choice. If you're more of a casual anime fan like us, you might prefer staying somewhere else depending on what you want to do. Personally, I’d probably choose Shibuya for easier access to Meiji Jingu and shopping, or Ginza if fashion and higher-end shopping are more your thing. But for a short stay, especially at the end of a long Japan trip, Remm Akihabara was a very convenient and comfortable choice. I’d definitely stay here again.

Just above JR station. Easy access to everywhere. Room is small and it's normal for a hotel in the middle of Tokyo city.

Aside how dirty the room was when they gave it to me, the rest of my time there was excellent. But for real, make sure you check for dust.
