    Super clean, beautiful hotel, spacious room, 10 mins walk to Kyoto station, 5 mins walk to bus stop. Totally worth it. Highly recommend

    This is the 4th Mercure I have stayed at as I typically like the quality and value of the brand. I think for the location and quality it is still a good value. However, this location seems the most dated and unclean that I have stayed at. The staff were helpful but the facilities really need some attention and the rooms need some upgrades. The carpet and floors were quite dirty and seemed uneven and sinking in some places. The windows seemed to leak air which caused a noise from the wind. The staff seemed to be aware of it and helped us fix it as they seemed to have dealt with it before. They should find a permanent solution as it was quite inconvenient. Finally, the hotel put a lock on the thermostat which wouldn't allow guests to adjust the temperature over 25 degrees which was quite uncomfortable in the cold weather. With some investment and attention to improving the facilities and the rooms this would be a true 5 star experience.
