MISLEADING: Omitting Essential Information When booking through Expedia, there was no indication that the rooms lacked air conditioning. This is a critical omission, especially considering the high temperatures during our stay in June. Upon arrival, we found the rooms unbearably hot, particularly on the second floor, making it impossible to sleep comfortably. We resorted to using wet, cold washcloths on our foreheads in an attempt to cope with the heat. Due to these uninhabitable conditions, we had no choice but to check out after the first night, forfeiting the second night of our stay. This was not a matter of preference but of necessity, as the room conditions were not as advertised and did not meet basic comfort standards. The lack of air conditioning should have been clearly disclosed prior to booking as it is a misrepresentation and intentionally omitting essential information.

Really enjoyed our stay here staff were very helpful and friendly. Room was clean but as we were in a heatwave it was very hot even though they had provided a fan we could not stay in the room for long. Breakfast was cereals, toast, jams dried fruits with natural yogurt the only downside was they could have provided better selection of pastries I would have been happy paying a bit more. We did have a meal in the evening which was very tasty and reasonably priced we come again

4.5 / 5. We were told on arrival continental which was lovely. We did order small breakfast for £6 and it was wonderful and filling. The room was exceptionally clean. OK there is noise at night but let's remember this is a bar so expect it, did not bother us. People so friendly, man in pub invited us to bbq at cricket club across the road. Good cause they are raising funds for. The only let down for me was the cheese platter, 3 crackers two wedges of soft cheese and chutney. Grapes, celery or apple and some hard cheese would have been nice. Never had a platter so sparse. Never mind just a small complaint. I certainly would book here again if in area.

Clean , unusual quality furniture beds good size room. The here was a choice at breubut slightly misleading you had to pay for cooked. As this a very old building wouldn't be for those who have trouble with stairs or unsteady on feet. Staff all really lovely and nothing was too much trouble. Would stay again

I took my partner on a last minute night away for his birthday. We had a room and had dinner in the restaurant which was divine. The bed was very comfortable and they had all toiletries including shampoo and conditioner. We both really enjoyed our stay and my partner said it was the best night sleep he has had in a long time.

This was an excellent choice. One never knows when booking just what one will find. But the Lamb Inn has been superb in every way. It is very well run by a small staff who were welcoming and friendly. The building is beautiful as is its position and our room was just great. Both nights we ate in the restaurant which was packed by a mixture of locals and visitors and the food was good The included breakfast was of the continental variety although one could order cooked breakfasts at an additional cost. The provided breakfast was fine although some cheese would have been pleasant I have only one gripe which is daft really but the shower base was very smooth and slippery and all one had to do was be aware Overall full marks for The Lamb Inn, Shioton under Wychwood It’s position roughly equi distant from Burford and Chipping Norton makes it an ideal base to discover the delights of the Cotswolds

Very nice old country pub, quaint, charming. Pub was nice, lots of locals. Wood fires were good. Walls are a little thin so we could hear noise and music from the bar ( but that shut down by 10:45). Rooms at the other end could have been offered as quieter. We had the included cold breakfast which was fine. Hot breakfast looked good.

A great menu and delicious local ingredients served by friendly staff. Cosy bar/dining area, and stayed very comfortable room in adjoining building. Wine list extensive, if on the expensive side. Its a lovely village and great base for exploring the Cotswolds.

When we arrived we checked into room 2 at no point was we made aware how noisy this room was. as it is above the busy restaurant. By 9pm we had had enough of the noise and asked to move to a different room ? We then move to room 7 which was a lot smaller than the room we booked a big downgrade in the morning the water was too cold to have a wash or shower ? Also the fire alarm was activated on three different occasions waking us up each time on the first time I called down to reception and asked what was going on. Do we need to evacuate the hotel? I was told no it is an issue with the fire alarm in the bar, I said to the lady are you aware of the fire process and you need to make all residents aware that this is a thoughts activation? I suggest you knock on every door and tell them which she did they should not need me to tell your staff the process for a fire alarm? I would suggest some training

The room was extremely compact but was fine for an overnight stay. The Lamb Inn was a lovely spot for dinner and the breakfast was fabulous. A lovely quiet location with nice walks nearby.

The property was beautifully quaint and 16th Century with beams, a lovely pub and gorgeous dining area. The food was very good and the breakfast, both the cooked and the cold breakfast. The only problem was the steep stairs but nothing you can do about that as the property is so old. Overall a charming place.

Staff were all friendly and our Room was clean to a good standard throughout being dog friendly. Homemade cookies and fresh water were supplied each day. Continental breakfast was included in the price, but could of done with meats and cheeses to add to the selection. The cooked breakfast was a good quality, and you got a good portion. We did have an issue with a leaking coffee machine which we raised with Staff but was not rectified, so we had to keep putting this in the Bathroom. Great location to visit the Cotswolds and Oxfordshire. A nice little woodland walk just up the road was handy for taking the dog on an evening. The restaurant was always busy, you need to book should you want to eat, with it only being small. Would definitely return should we be in the area.
