We got a call from Hotels.com to inform us that the hotel need to cancel our reservation. Due to maintenance issues at the property … or so they claimed. Very disappointed since we were on our way there

The desk staff was Inattentive, almost rude, but the cleaning staff was friendly. The room was clean, night table lamp inoperative. For my next trip I’ll consider Holiday Inn Express and Candlewood Suites.

Front desk wrote down the wrong door number but it happens sometimes. A gentleman with a vacuum was extremely helpful, he was the best. Quiet area but nothing really within walking. And it's on a one way road so access is frustrating but totally possible. Excellent view of trees. Clean and comfortable.

The room was not clean thoroughly. We found a pair of socks from a previous guest who had stayed underneath the chair which was in an obvious location. The bathroom sink has grin around the rim.

The front desk staff were very friendly and sweet. The hotel had a good breakfast with various options, complimentary water, and the place was very clean. The beds and pillows were not very comfortable to me because they weren’t very firm. They also don’t do house keeping like making the beds cleaning the bathroom if you don’t stay for a minimum of 3 nights which was extremely odd to me as I’ve stayed in lower rated cheaper hotels and never had that be an issue. Wasn’t expecting that from a higher rated hotel. Also one of their elevators was broken the entire stay so it would take a little bit for us to go up and down. Parking was hard the first night. There weren’t a lot of options as it was full but didn’t have issues the next night. Overall location was nice and easy to get to Texas state university, food, and shops. Right off of 35.

The main wall behind the beds looked hilariously patched from previous water damage. It looked like water had leaked from the ceiling and there was still damage visible but there was a patchwork of wallpaper squares to cover the damage that was more fit for a Motel 6. Also the shower head was clogged partly spraying on the curtain which flooded the bathroom. The pool was comfortable but def needed to be cleaned. Good breakfast and very friendly staff was the best part
