Aque Cave - Le Grotte del Caveoso

Paola and her team were amazing! We felt so well taken care of from the moment we arrived. They had tons of great recommendations for drinks and restaurants. Her brother introduced us to Caffè Leccese, an almond-flavored iced coffee, which quickly became our new obsession. The breakfast buffet was a definite highlight, we looked forward to it every morning... it was so fresh and just what we needed to start the day. We also loved the daily visits from the friendly local cat, Willow, she's adorable, and it was nice to see her every time we came back. The space itself is gorgeous and has the perfect cave vibe...so unique and cozy, yet incredibly clean. We were in town for a wedding, and our stay at Aque Cave made discovering the charm of Matera even more special.

On a multi month trip, this was the highlight! There service was the best we have experienced (Including many 5 star hotels). The breakfast was amazing!. And I do admire there incredible language skills with the best English we have heard so far in Italy. I wish my Italian was anywhere close to that good. Thank you so much for an amazing stay!

This property is amazing!!! The rooms are spectacular, unique and very comfortable. The staff was amazing!!! I’m sure I’ll spell their names wrong but they are phenomenal. Paola, Francesco (front desk) and Valeria from the breakfast area were amazing. I truly can’t say enough great things about them.

This place is amazing. I highly recommend it and will definitely stay here again if I return to Matera.
