Room was tiny but with charming ambiance, very vintage. There is no check-in desk at the property but you get digital door codes or can run over the the main office for physical room keys.
But great bed, great air conditioning AND a ceiling fan, modern bathroom, toiletries --the water pressure in the shower could have been better but no big deal. The stairs up are indeed steep and a bit rickety, beware if you have any kind of mobility issues.
I arrived hours before the room was ready and went to their flagship hotel on Esplanade (about 3 blocks away) to drop my bags off. Carol at the desk was wonderful and friendly. Sat by the courtyard pool for a bit, it was lovely.
Easy safe walk home from Frenchman St, comfortable walk into the busier parts of the French Quarter.
