Hotel Antares

Although not located centrally in the middle of Zermatt, it’s only a 8-10 minute walk from the train station. It’s got lots of charm (the decor is very traditional, a little bit “tired” looking but cute) and it is very clean in the most important ways (bathroom, linens, general spaces. It’s a ski town, so expect it to be slightly dirty. Walls are very thin and could hear fellow travelers coughing throughout the night. Overall, it was a good stay. It did the job of giving me shelter for the night. 😊

It is a hotel you will remember for a long time. The view from the balcony is magnificent. It is like watching a movie "Matterhorn" from the VIP seats. It is located very close to the Matterhorn Express station. You can walk to the center of Zermatt or take a free E-bus in a 2-minute walk from the hotel.

Cozy typical swiss chalet hotel. This was a 4 star hotel from the 70's that needs some refurbishing. Nice bathroom design, but the shower system is not functioning well and is hard to handle. Also the bedsheets were not changed during the 13 nights I stayed, but maybe it was possible by request. In the economy room you have a nice balcony facing the other side of the mountain (not the Matterhorn). Spa is included and it has all you need from steam sauna , dry one to a jacuzzi bath with nice antic design, warming mosaic couches. The breakfast was variate and enough to fill you with energy for the slopes. Cozy breakfast room with Matterhorn view. Welcoming personnel at the reception. Close to the Matterhorn-Express station to Furi. Just 10 minutes from the train station by the free Green Bus. It seems that the hotel will change its style - I really hope they will keep this nice building and just renovate it as it has a warm traditional atmosphere of Swiss chalet that many guests appreciate.
