We really enjoyed our stay in Matsumoto - the hotel was lovely and authentic. I love sleeping on a futon and really loved the aesthetic of the room and the hotel. One thing, if you're older like us, you might want to make sure you can get up and down off of the floor easily before booking.

We loved everything about our stay. The room was comfortable, the house charming, the shower excellent and most of all, we loved and appreciated the welcoming and helpful hosts.

My wife and I had an amazing few days stay at Nunoya. The team there have done an amazing job restoring the old Ryokan and have created a fantastic comfortable and welcoming place to stay. The rooms have loads of space and are well equipped. The bathroom space is great and the shower we had was incredible. I’d highly recommend the breakfast as well.. absolutely delicious and great value. The location is perfect to explore Matsumoto on foot. Everything walkable within 10-15 mins. Overall we’d rate Nunoya as outstanding.. highly recommended
