The place was very nice and clean, and the staff was exceptional. We met a few staff members, and they all went the extra mile. We also ordered dinner, which was just amazing - the best one that we have had in Japan over a 3-week period.
The only thing that was annoying was the green exit light in our room - it made the room very bright even at night. The doors were quite small, so I had to watch my head, but good nonetheless once you get used to it.

The building smells of old wood and the floors are creaky, but this makes the stay feel so cozy and I don't know... Japanese. We paid for the dinner/ breakfast plan. Dinner was 6 courses and every dish was delicious and local. Breakfast was traditional and filling.
Low door ways. I'm 5'11" and hit my head a few times. Just something to be aware of.

Well situated to the castle and shopping street.
Old and outdated. Not quite the cleanliness standards we have experienced in Japan as a whole.
