As soon as you walk into the hotel, it smells amazing; instantly your senses are aroused. The staff was very nice and check in was a breeze. The room was smaller than I expected but as a solo traveler it was fine and the amenities were perfect. The location is close to metro stations although I walked everywhere including to many tourists attractions, parks, shops, and restaurants. The area is decent with plenty of restaurants close. I would stay here again. The only issue I would caution on is WiFi. It is spotty in several areas and kept buffering. I ended up using my cell phone as a hot spot. Other than that great value and a nice stay. Book early for best pricing.

The good aspects:1) the location is very good. Very near San Bernardo and Bilbao metro stations. Plenty of busses too just around the corner and a taxi rank right in front of the hotel. The hotel is also located in front of a park in a quiet residential area so no problem with noise at night 2) the room is cleaned well, the lobby, the gym, etc were also very clean 3)my room is well-sized and had a lovely balcony Now area for some serious improvements: 1) this hotel is seriously dated. Though it is clean, the furniture and fixtures are scratched, wood panels are chipped, marks on the wall, even the reception desk is full of wear and tear 2) for the price I paid, this hotel offers very little value. No kettle, no tea, no coffee, no water, nothing. The TV in my room was not working when I arrived for the first time. The 2-star hotel I stayed in Cordoba that cost half of this hotel gave slippers, tea and coffee, water, kettle, and bath robe. What a joke! 3) the gym is nice, well equipped and clean. However, I think this gym has capacity issue. When I came there, there were 3 outside guests (I dont see them having room keys with them so I think maybe the hotel sells membership to external clients), each guest had his own personal trainer. These personal trainers were so arrogant, they colonized all equipments by putting their phones, towels, etc on the bench, near the weight racks, etc. When I wanted to use the dumbells that I assumed they were not using, one PT yelled at me and said in Spanish that I cannot use it. Then I moved on to use a different bench, I placed my phone on the bench so I can grab another piece of equipment. While I was getting that, one PT took the bench that I wanted to use, in the process he dropped my phone and my towel on the ground. Unacceptable behavior! 4) the worst part is the front desk staff/reception area. They were so aloof, they looked so disturbed / bothered when interacting with guests. Every interaction I had with them is responded with a one-word answer like yes and no. One lady rolled her eyes and huffed so loud and talked in Spanish to her colleague in the back office when I asked her about taxi fare to the airport. When I inquired about broken TV in my room, the man behind the reception desk just said in a very condescending manner "you unplug the cable and plug it again" This hotel has a lot of potential but sadly the staff and the up keep/maintenance let it down
