Fantastic stay - would definitely return

The cottage was very charming and had everything we needed for a weekend stay, and the location was fantastic. It was clean and very well-presented and the hosts made everything easy. I would highly recommend this property.

Two things I would highlight: 1) The parking situation out front is a bit confusing - it's not clear whether or not we're allowed to park out front if we're guests, and the way it's described in the welcome pack is a bit confusing (I think it essentially says park at your own risk). It would be helpful to make it clearer whether guests can park out front 2) The stairs in the property are very steep so it might just be worth highlighting this on the property description (if it's not there already)

Great value for money, comfy sleep and a perfect location

We felt the property was outstanding value for money for the price we paid. It’s in the perfect location to explore The Mumbles and the gower beaches. The bed was clean and very comfortable. The kitchen had lots of utensils. The hot water and heating worked well. The WiFi was very fast. We always found a parking space close by. Communication from the host was clear and responsive, and check in and check out was easy. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.

We found the downstairs carpets had lots of white dog hair on it from previous guests, it stuck to our clothes and belongings. Some of the kitchen equipment needed a wash before being used. There wasn’t enough coffee or toilet paper provided for 2 people for a 5 night stay. The stairs are steep but we were already aware of this and for us it wasn’t a problem.

Lives up to its name – we hope to be back someday.

The house is truly a 'little gem': we felt very comfortable there. Beautiful bedrooms. Mumbles is a great place and highly recommended. The breakfast basket with local specialities was wonderful. Parking is available on the side streets right next to the house. Communication was very friendly and helpful.

Despite detailed instructions, we were unable to get the stove working. Fortunately, there are numerous good takeaways nearby (we particularly recommend the Indian, Lebanese and Japanese ones).

Lovely cottage in great location

The Fishermans cottage is such a lovely and cosy place! Great location as well, just a few steps away from the hub of the Mumbles. We really enjoyed our stay there.

There were issues with the shower when we were there but the host was very responsive and handled this very well.

Lovely cottage, cosy clean and comfortable, perfect for us.

Breakfast was good, a varied selection. More than expected.

Roadworks preventing access to the house and a 5 mile detour. We did not receive and pre warning about the roadworks, so had to discover through trial and error a detour.

Holidaying in Little Gem

The cottage was lovely. It was very well furnished and the bed was really comfortable. The breakfast hamper was excellent

The open staircase was a little difficult for me because of my age (it would also perhaps be a problem for small children).

Pretty cottage in lovely location

Location is great - very short walk down to the sea and into Mumbles. It’s up a hill, but that’s one of the things that makes Mumbles so picturesque! The cottage is small but very comfortable, and the breakfast pack is a very nice touch. Kitchen is well equipped and the place was very clean. We were able to find parking nearby without problems (even though the road - resident permit parking only - was being dug up and actually largely closed when we visited).

As others have noted, the stairs are really very steep - not recommended for small children or the elderly. This would be a particular concern for bathroom visits during the night, as the bathroom is located downstairs.

Great location, quaint cottage & catered for all our needs

A lovely little cottage which really catered for our needs. Great location, a short walk from all the shops, pubs, restaurants & seafront. We loved the wood fire & Mumbles themed decor throughout. We'd definitely stay again.

Location generally good. Cosy and warm. Generally clean.

Hosts could arrange (at cost) parking permits for visitors. Not always easy to find a free and secure parking space. Very creaky doors and difficult to close doors so nighttime visits to the bathroom wake everyone up. Shower not very good.

Our stay at Thistleboon was a lovely winter get away in an amazing location. Amazing facilities and true to description.

The property was stunning throughout, with a cozy feel but we can also imagine with the decor it’d be an amazing place to stay in summer. The beds were exceptionally comfortable, with comfy and cozy living and dining areas. The breakfast hamper was a lovely touch. The property was in close proximity to shops and restaurants. Lovely hosts and great value for money!

Lovely cottage near the sea

Very cosy cottage decorated to a high standard. Breakfast basket was a really nice touch .Host were really easy to contact and always got a prompt friendly reply. Very clean and tidy .

Sehr schönes Ferienhaus mit maritimem Stil, sehr gut ausgestattet

Das Haus ist liebevoll und mit Stil eingerichtet, verfügt in beiden Schlafzimmern und im Wohnzimmer über moderne Fernseher, gutes W LAN und sogar eine Waschmaschine. Der großzügige und hochwertige Frühstückskorb reicht für einige Tage und es war eine gute und großzügige Erstausstattung von z.B. Kaffee, Waschmittel, Spülmittel….vorhanden. Sogar im Bad mit Duschgel, Shampoo und Conditioner. Die Matratzen der 2 Schlafzimmer sind sehr gut. Wir haben das Haus als Ausgangslage für Tageswanderungen im Dower gebucht. Wir hatten zwar einen Mietwagen, aber auch Busse fahren in der Nähe. Wir hatten eine sehr schöne Zeit in dem Ferienhaus und können es sehr weiterempfehlen. Vielen Dank!
