A peaceful and relaxing break in nature. Thank you

Location was amazing; very quite with walks available from the house. Plenty of hot water. Comfortable beds and kitchen was well equipped (except a top up of cutlery would be great). Responsive owners as they brought us a broom and mended the tap in the family bathroom.

Low water pressure at the bathroom sink. Short on loo rolls and there was only 1 soap. Some hand towels for the kitchen and toilets would be great.

Relatively close to Exmoor national park . But the advertising is very misleading , our booking is a dude cottage , which isnot located in the main house building , that is seen on pictures.

No hot water in the cottage , only hot water in shower heated by electric shower unit, which it is super hot . It is very dangerous for the children. cleaning service or cleaning products not provided. No grocery deliveries, as promised on the website，because the nearest supermarket town is 15miles away . No tennis facilities provided during our stay .

A little beautiful treasure

Beautiful setting , cute cottage for 2 on the side of the big house. Well equipped kitchen . Lovely comfortable bed . Everything is quality and the fresh cut flowers on the table were a lovely touch .

The road is a little rough on the way to the house . No microwave .

AMAZING PERFECT FOR RELAXING HOLIDAYS

What we liked: We really enjoyed our stay. The location is beautiful – very quiet, peaceful and surrounded by stunning views. The house itself felt cosy and welcoming, and it was spotlessly clean. The host was extremely helpful and responsive; anything we asked for was dealt with straight away. We also appreciated the thoughtful touches such as games and books for the children, which made the stay even more enjoyable. The barbecue facilities were excellent – very well organised and lovely to use. Towels, tissues and other essentials were all provided, which was very convenient. The sofas were very comfortable, and overall the house had a warm, homely feel.

What could be improved: When booking, it wasn’t clear exactly which apartment we were reserving, as there are several listed together. From the photos we expected a larger property with more bedrooms and beds, so we were a little surprised on arrival to find it smaller than anticipated. While the house was still a good size, clearer information would help future guests set the right expectations. Finding the property on arrival was also a little tricky, as there was no sign outside the main gate, and mobile reception in the area is limited. Upstairs, the bathroom door didn’t have a working lock, and the water pressure in the sinks and shower was quite low. The bath also didn’t provide hot water, which was a shame. The downstairs toilet was very nice, but it had no ventilation and the window could not be opened, which made it less comfortable. There were no basic cleaning tools at first, which made it difficult for a longer family stay, although the host kindly provided a broom as soon as we asked. In the evenings, we found the lighting a bit dim, and while the sofas were very comfortable, the beds were on the small side.

We had a really nice time, my grandson (2 and a half) enjoyed the freedom to run around.

Emmetts is situated in a rather remote area but has outstanding views and lots of interesting places to visit. Surrounding roads are pretty challenging, careful driving essential! It was nice staying on a working farm, great to see horses, pigs and chickens and of course, a cockeral.

The family bathroom sink needs attention, new taps and a working plug would be helpful. Not much option regarding storage of toiletries etc.
