Romney Hut

We really enjoyed our stay in Romney Hut - the peaceful location and beautiful views were a real bonus. It was lovely to be able to wander around the field and surrounding countryside, and even with some other huts on the wider property we felt our location was private. Our host was very helpful and attentive with any questions we had, and the private hottub was a treat

Whilst the peacefulness was a bonus be prepared to travel anywhere by car, on narrow (sometimes single track) roads, as this is a very remote spot! The views make up for it though! Research eateries in advance as no takeaways close by and local pub may not serve food every day

Overall it was clean but lightbulbs could do with a dust and a bit clearer instructions on where to meet the host on arrival would be helpful - minor things!

The view and quirkiness.

No cooking tray for oven.

It’s very pretty and the views are insane and the welcome hamper was a nice touch.

It’s really in the middle of nowhere with nothing around. You need to bring everything with you as there are no shops at all in walking distance. There are no mirrors in the cabin so be sure to bring your own if you need it. The hot tub is not really a hot tub. It’s more of a bath and takes forever to heat up (we had the fire going for about 5 hours and it was barely warm). You also have to keep putting logs on it every 40 mins to warm it up which is highly restrictive, especially as the cabin is on the top of a very steep hill. We had to leave dinner to do the walk up just to keep it going and in the end it was barely worth it as it didn’t heat up.
