About this farm stay rental

Remember your childhood memories of wonderful Northern Michigan summers, or create new ones with your family. Our adorable two bedroom, two bathroom home is newly renovated and is sure to make your stay in the village of Suttons Bay one you will always remember.

Our home is situated on a large lot, just over one acre that borders the Leelanau TART Trail. We are just a four mile bike ride into town to very popular restaurants such as V.I Grill, Boone’s Prime Time, Streetside Grille, North Country, Martha’s Leelanau Table, Wren and Hop Lot Brewing Company. It is also walking distance to a grocery store, toy store, lavender and cherry shop, bookshop, florist, Leelanau Cheese, and Murdick’s Fudge Shop, among many other boutiques.

Sutton’s Bay is a charming, small town with a spirit you have to experience to believe. In Suttons Bay you will find wineries, farmers market on select days, and rentals for kayaks and bikes. There is even a small vintage movie theatre, public beach with a park, public library and a candy store!

Should you take a lovely 14 minute drive northwest to Leland, make sure to stop at Pedaling Beans in Lake Leelanau for some of the county’s best coffee and pastries. In Leland you will find Fishtown, which boasts a candy store, a plethora of shopping, fishing charters, boat trips to the Manitou islands, restaurants and even a small park for the kids. Up in the town of Leland you will find cute boutiques, grocery, family owned bar, breakfast hang out, tennis and basketball courts.

The Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore was voted ‘The Most Beautiful Place In America’ by Good Morning America and is a scenic 40 minute drive from our home.

The home is fully furnished. We supply all linens, pillows, towels, paper towels and toilet paper. The kitchen is fully equipped with a microwave, coffee maker, dishwasher, dishes and all pots and pans. We also provide a washer and dryer.

The main level has much of the original trim work and doors that you’d expect from a vintage 1920’s Leelanau County Farmhouse, with wood floors throughout. The kitchen boasts premium appliances, along with seating at the bar counter. Also on the main floor we have a full bathroom with claw foot tub, laundry/Mudroom, formal dining room and living room. Upstairs we have an enormous 13x16 master bedroom, with en suite full bathroom attached. In this bedroom we have a queen and a full size bed, separated by a curtain. Across the hall we also offer another bedroom with a queen size bed.

This home is ideally suited for a large family or several couples together looking to build lifelong memories.

This was a nice house, very functional for our family. The kitchen was great for preparing meals, had everything one would need and lots of counter space. There is a very large deck for cookouts and dining al fresco plus a huge yard with a big tree to sit under in the shade and a fire pit which we used twice. The host left it stocked with plenty of firewood and kindling and it was surrounded by six comfortable Adirondack chairs. In addition, there is a wooden foot path that leads right to the bike trail. We found the property very clean and nicely decorated with lots of comfortable furniture. The sheets were nice and soft and the towels were thick and fluffy. Communication with the host was quick and helpful.
