Friendly and responsive staff, relatively close to the beach and all the restaurants (8 min walk). Nice room and decent bathroom.

I've left the same comment for all guest houses in Sri Lanka: the windows need a screen or netting over them so they can be opened for extended periods of time to let fresh air in. This would be a huge improvement and do a lot for comfort. The wifi wasn't great, bring your own.

White Villa is a great place to stay — we spent ten days there and really enjoyed it. The room was spacious and clean, and the air conditioning worked perfectly. There’s a kitchen on the ground floor with all the necessary utensils, a kettle, and everything you might need if you want to cook something. The location is excellent, with plenty of restaurants nearby where you can try delicious local food. Our top recommendation is the family restaurant Grandma’s Recipes, where we ate every day. The accommodation is just a few minutes’ walk from Uppuveli Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches on the east coast, so you can’t go wrong if you choose to stay here. The hosts were very kind, provided clean towels whenever needed, and there’s also a laundry service available.

1. Ligging was perfect! Wandelafstand van een zeer mooi strand en eetgelegenheden. 2. Vriendelijk personeel. 3. Veilige parking voor onze tuktuk. 4. Airco.

1. De kamer. Ik weet dat je niet veel voor deze prijs mag verwachten maar netheid/hygiëne is toch wel de basis... Er zaten scheuren en gaten in de muur. De kakkerlakken en gekko's kropen zo onder de deur naar binnen. Onder de bedden was al een tijdje niet meer schoongemaakt.
