Prestigious apartment in Syracuse in the heart of Ortigia, the “Writer's House” is located in Palazzo Francica Nava, a fifteenth-century building that - as is often the case on this magical island - mixes different eras and styles, from the Gothic-Catalan evident in the entrance hall and the wonderful entrance portal, to the baroque of the balconies and upper floors. Here is the acropolis of Ortigia, the place where the ancient Greek colonists arrived and where its goddesses live, the treasure chest of the history of this city. Thirty-five steps, coming out of the large wooden door, lead us from Via Landolina to Piazza Duomo, one of the most beautiful squares in the world. The apartment, located on the second and last floor, with its floors is made of the very body of Sicily: the white stone of which Syracuse is made, the lava stone that recalls Etna, the sandstone that evokes the sand of the coasts. The furniture is taken care of in every detail, combining comfort and beauty, the intensity and charm of antique furniture and the levity of contemporary design. And real paintings are the windows that open onto the baroque capitals of the nearby Jesuit College church, a unique landscape from a house full of light and visions of the sky. The apartment consists of a kitchen-living room, connected and separable by a large sliding door, living room, study (also usable as a separate bedroom), double bedroom, two bathrooms (equipped with shower and bathtub respectively), walk-in closet, laundry room. Equipped with a double entrance, it overlooks a delightful balcony, an intimate and quiet corner, an open-air oasis. Inhabited and crossed by artists, women and men of theater, film actresses, masters of photography, the house has, like its owner, a literary vocation: some of its books were “born” right in these rooms. The studio, with its shelves full of books in different genres and languages, is accessible to the guests of the apartment, who can consult and enjoy the large library while experiencing the beauty of the city, resonating with the special soul of its places.
The apartments are managed by an agency that requires the conclusion of a rental agreement, pursuant to articles 1571 and following of the Civil Code, with regular registration of the documents necessary for the issuance of the invoice. The requested documents are used exclusively to comply with fiscal and public security obligations, as required by current Italian legislation. .
