Large 8 Bedroom House in Edgbaston

Clean, bright and everything was ready and tidy for our arrival, the location was ideal and the beds are all comfortable

Booked for my partners company as they had a job to do nearby. So four of them stayed there, loads of space and great location with parking. There will potentially be more work coming up so they will stay again and the wider team

The location was perfect for our needs being only a 30 min drive from the NEC. It was on a main road which had great access to local shops and takeouts. The house was very big which was great for our large group. There was a good number of bathrooms which saved us fighting for them when showers were needed. The kitchen was stocked with plenty of plates, cups, cutlery, and cookware so we could cook for ourselves, which was a great experience. The bedrooms were very spacious and had plenty of room for the amount of people staying without needing to worry about space for luggage. The house seemed a little dated in appearance but was very clean and well equipped.

There were a lot of scuffs and small areas of damage throughout the house, such as dents and cracks in the wall, handles broken, a big crack on the stove, and one of the ovens not working. This overall didn't effect our comfort or our stay. There were three doors leading out into the back garden and only one of them could be opened. There were no keys besides the front door key. The only door we could open then couldn't be locked and had to remain unlocked for the duration of our stay. I messaged the property about it and was only informed that there should be a latch, which there wasn't. Their communication on this issue was very poor, but thankfully we had no further problems. Due to being unable to open the back doors, the house became very warm and stuffy as we stayed during a heatwave. If we hadn't brought our own fans it may have been very uncomfortable.

Good size house and location

There is a lot of work that needs to be carried out on the property. Some issues we found were a blocked sinks, damaged furniture, garden door in the games room wouldn't open so couldn't use it due to the room being like a sauna. Most concerning was the huge hole in the floor in the downstairs bathroom which was a danger and meant the bathroom couldn't be used. When brought to the attention of the host, they said they would contact maintenance who took 2 days to visit the property. The outcome was that it would be a job for a few days to fix and they couldn't start until the following week. We were not offered a part refund for the inconvenience of not being able to use 2 bathrooms or the games room. We were only given the option to cancel the booking. I do not believe the property should be listed until the work has been carried out.
