The Old Hat Shop

Stayed at the Old Hat House when attending wedding at nearby Matlock Bath. Love the mill history of the house and Cromford village. House is beautifully decorated with each room having its own character, especially loved the bath. House had all the items you would need for a stay, lots of hot water for showering and bath, very comfortable beds and was exceptionally clean. A pint of milk in the fridge and croissants waiting for you.

It was perfect for us but not suitable for someone with mobility issues. The stairs are steep and you had to park car on road and so not always guaranteed a spot outside of house.

A cosy and comfortable property with lots of character. Beautifully furnished and fully equipped. Small but really nice kitchen. Three beautiful bedrooms and a big bathroom. Loved the garden! And even more so the coffee machine!☺️

Wonderful character cottage, renovated with flair and respect. Full of light. Great bathroom. Comfy beds. Coffee machine (but could not work it!). Thank you for coffee pods, croissants and teabags etc. dishwasher. Lovely garden and little summerhouse. Perfect location. Great sense of the host’s welcome and thoughtfulness.

It would be ideal to have a teapot and full length mirror and washing line. Parking a bit tricky.

Location was good Host was helpful & accommodating

Parking was hit & miss, on the road outside, very busy popular spaces. The house was old and had stone floors which weren’t the cleanest so wasn’t great for our baby son. The stairs were so steep, almost dangerous so I’d be careful if taking youngsters/ elderly guests with you. The main road is super busy and extremely noisy so take ear plugs for bedtime. Avoid if you are wanting to cook a large meal/ Christmas meal, the kitchen is TINY and is not sufficient to cook a substantial meal.
