Ok for one night but wouldn’t stay again

Close to everything

Very noisy but that was mainly the guest that were staying banging doors all night and talking walls very thin wasn’t very clean although bedding was clean

Lovely sea view room. Comfortable bed, nice room.

Unfortunately our room didn't have any hot water. We booked breakfast for 8.30am as we were getting public transport at 9.20 am but breakfast room was locked and lights were off when we came down in the morning at 08.15. We did get a refund but it was disappointing.

The smell was horrendous - smelt like old fat or rotten cabbage especially along the Corridor! Window had no net curtains so everyone could see in unless you completely closed the curtains. Shower was grubby and bathroom shelf falling off! Did not want to stay!

Great location and staff were welcoming

Room was in need of some much needed work ! Bathroom ceiling had areas that the plaster was ready to fall off , seal to the shower door wasn’t fitted at the bottom , mould around the shower tray . Window safety latch was broken . The double double was 2 singles pushed together with a large gap in the middle and 2 single mattresses zipped together which left a horrible metal seem down the centre. Room was in need of a re-paint . The landing had windows wide open all the time as there was a fusty smell as you walked along.

The price was very good for a room that sleeps 4. Beds were comfy.

bathroom was old and need replacing, the bedroom needed decorating, and the floors were uneven. The corridors were very narrow

The room had mouldy walls, electric radiators had a foot missing , electrical socket was not secure on the wall, the corridor smelled of damp, didn’t complain as only staying for one evening. To see a show at the theatre .

Lovely place will stay here next time we visit

Stayed in the family room which was lovely. Cosy, clean and comfortable. Lovely pub downstairs. Was worried that the kids would be kept up with noise from downstairs but it was completely quiet upstairs and we were all fast asleep by about half ten. Excellent service. Fantastic breakfast including a very picky 12 year old! Staff were all lovely went out of their way for us. Will be re-booking and recommending to family who are visiting my father in law.

Friendly helpful staff, nice pub. Clean room. Quiet in the room.

Needs updating, paint tired and dark, felt very basic. No hot water but this issue was resolved the same evening. Cold in the room on arrival, with the heater on it helped but took hours to warm the room enough on an icy day

Perfect for what I wanted in my stay, very welcoming.

I wanted to stay as close as I could to the sea. From our room we had a great view. This was very dog friendly, the staff lovely and welcoming. The room was clean and bed comfortable. The double glazed windows cut all road noise. I was glad of the kettle, coffee and water. I would suggest good value for money. Everywhere was walking distance being in the centre or stay in, enjoy the bar and restaurant

Parking can be challenging. There is parking right outside and opposite for free. Some street parking close by. I did use the pay and display for 24 hours, £9.40 which I thought was fair and I could see my car from the room. I think a some TLC would be good in the rooms. The bathroom a bit ‘sad’ around the edges.

The only niggle we had was the noisy bathroom fan so we tended not to put the light on so lighting was poor in the bathroom.

The Wash & Tope has once again proved to be excellent. Sea Views, a great location, surprisingly quiet at night & a lovely breakfast.

I find it difficult to fault this venue. This is not a new building but is well maintained & cosy. Sure, the odd minor repair is visible, but nothing in life is perfect.
