The view from the property
Nothing except the breakfast and dinner could have more variety to choose from
7.0 / 10.0
+ Superb view
+ Comfortable rooms
+ Good food at dinner
+ Very kind and attentive staff, especially the cook and the evening waiter
- The sauna is only open from 3:00 to 6:00 pm, which is unacceptable for a hotel positioning itself as luxury. Additionally, the sauna area offers only six daybeds for more than 30 guests if the hotel is full, making it overcrowded and poorly planned.
- The Alm is not directly connected to the Kitzbühel ski lift , a significant disadvantage for skiers. From the Bichlbahn-middle station (where you will want to park), it takes approximately 10 minutes by car to reach the Hahnenkammbahn and around 20 minutes to the Jochberg lift or the Fleckalmbahn.
- Due to the lack of snow, we were fully dependent on the lifts both to go up and down, as skiing down to the Middle station was impossible. Consequently, ski boots had to be left in the car at the middle station, resulting in cold boots every day.
- The lift going up to the Alm is quite old and slow (approximately 10–15 minutes). In winter, I recommend guests to dress warmly, as the ride can be cold.
- The breakfast variety and quality do not meet expectations for a hotel at this price point. More attention to detail is also needed: light background music would improve the atmosphere, and the breakfast room and table arrangements should be more carefully presented…
- Dinner offers very limited choice (i.e.
1 starter, choice between 2 main courses and 1 dessert). While the food was tasty and the kitchen flexible when requested, this limited level of choice is far below what one would expect from a luxury hotel.
- Housekeeping was disappointing:
1 ) Dirty glasses and teacups were not removed
2 ) Soap was not refilled
3 ) The empty tissue box was only replaced after we deliberately left it in a very visible place following the second night
4 ) I unfortunately agree with a previous review mentioning silverfish in the bathroom, which we also encountered
- The dining room is uncomfortably warm. Ironically, the hotel has a beautiful fireplace that was never used—presumably because it would have made the room even hotter.

Very nice staff. Room normal, food normal for an hostel
To reach it you need to take a chairlift very hold and slow (30/35 min). No snow No slopes No info No menü a la cart.. Dinner at 7 pm

staff apart from owner- good.
Our stay at BichlAlm Berggasthof was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I have ever had. The owner behaved shockingly rude and unprofessional. While I was quietly watching a handball game at the bar, he approached us twice — first making inappropriate comments, and then telling me to leave because he “doesn’t like” guests watching sports. I have never seen anything like this in a hotel claiming to be luxury.
The room also had silverfish, which I had already reported to the staff. Completely unacceptable for a hotel charging USD 522 per night.
The property also misleads guests about parking and access. You cannot drive to the hotel. Parking is 2 km away, you must take a ski lift (which costs extra), and the lift closes at 17:00. This means you can’t enjoy a full ski day or dine in town without risking getting stranded.
Beautiful scenery cannot make up for the disrespectful behavior, the misleading information, and the lack of basic standards.
I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone.

It's difficult that you can only reach the hotel by ski lift and that the ours of the lift are only from 9 till 5

Perfect location for hiking, there are many paths with different difficulties.
Friendly hotel for pets, my dog was very well treated.
Highly recommended to book breakfast and dinner .
Vegan friendly too, I requested vegan food and the stuff arranged everything perfectly beyond my expectations.
Breakfast was delicious and included non dairy milk and vegan cheese.
The dinner was perfect after a long day of hiking, the chef is very talented and created very delicious vegan dishes.
The hotel atmosphere is very cozy and perfect for a great holiday even in the rainy days.
The sauna and relaxation area was very nice and has a beautiful view of the valley and the mountains.
Part of the fun is also get to the hotel with the chair lift.
Thank you for the hospitality!

The Bichelalm is an exceptional hotel. The location is breathtaking with a view like no other, the design is most tasteful and upkeep meticulous with a great attention to detail, the food is great - traditional Austrian menu with a modern touch, and above all is the outstanding hospitality lead by Niko the proprietor and his great team (Elia and others).
Highly recommend!

Spectaculair Vieuw, very friendly staff, very clean, great atmosphere, warm and beautifully decorated with an eye for preserving its own culture, combined with design. Run with love by father and son.
