Great property but the neighbour didn’t like children

Really nicely decorated. Very comfortable beds ( though pillows were too soft). Good facilities. Located really well for Bowness and Windermere

Obnoxious neighbour who told us to go home because we had a 4 year old who ran around on wooden floor and he didn’t take kindly to occasional noise. He had no sense of the fact that children are occasionally noisy even if well behaved. Ironic given that he is expecting a baby next year. I got the impression that the neighbours don’t like out of town visitors.

Eventful

Lovely accommodation, very clean and the beds were very comfy. Kitchen had everything you needed and it is only a 10 minute walk maximum to the centre of bowness.

Don’t be fooled by the information you get sent. You only have ONE car parking space which seems ridiculous when there’s 3 large beds. You also can’t park in the “guest parking” as we found out when we turned up and had 3 neighbours swarm us and shout at us. They also took pictures of our cars when we were parked outside for 10 minutes trying to load up to check out. Left a bitter taste being spoken to like that when we were just doing as the instructions said and ruined the beginning of what ended up being a lovely trip.

Poor communication and parking and lack of garden key issue

The location was central to both Bowles’s and Windermere.

The lack of communication after sending various emails and trying to call the agent, lakeovers. No one answered and after spending 3 days trying to contact I finally got someone to report a broken tap. The showers were dirty on arrival. Whilst the pictures look very nice the parking is a major issue as you literally have to park outside the garage door. There is no garden meaning no outside space, BBQ’s etc. all this information really should be communicated. Also too, this is an upside down house which is in very small print in the advert so no good for people with limited mobility which we had in the party. Overall very disappointed. Staff at lakeovers were less than helpful.

Exceptional and would stay again

The house was exceptionally well presented with modern interior designs, the attention to detail with the decor and ornaments didn’t go unnoticed, touches of traditional lakes like the sheep and map but modern and comfortable. The sofa was very comfortable and tv good size for Netflix. kettle, microwave, oven etc provided and dishwasher with tablets and washing up liquid made the stay easier. Added bonus is outside parking, although a little tight if no5 is parked there too. Easy check in experience with the key safe at the door so that we didn’t need to communicate with the host about collection. The beds were comfortable and the place was very well heated, we had to turn the radiators down but not a problem and nice in the winter to come back to a warm home.

Mainly the management company was an issue, we requested and had confirmed that a cot would be at the house but not provided, we also called the management company asking for a quote to stay an additional night as could only book 2 nights online and they said they would get back to us but didn’t. A couple of minor points, check out at 10 and check in at 4 are a bit early and late, usually 11 and 3. No coffee, shower gel or shampoo provided. Light fittings in upstairs bedroom, living room and bathroom shelves quite visibly dusty so cleaners may need more time. It would be good to have the mirror near a socket to style hair and a bin in the bathroom. We would still come back to stay here as we loved it and as above wanted to extend our stay but nobody got back to us, we thought these small changes would make the stay perfect.

Location great very clean tidy

The parking needs to state that only 1 car can Park outside the property, it’s very unclear the residents getting annoyed with it. The bedrooms could do with some storage bedside cabinets would help.

Clean, well-located but poorly managed house

the property was very clean and recently refurbished to a high standard. It’s also well located, a few minutes’ walk from the pier and restaurants and bars. Also close to Windermere itself; Orrest Head only a few minutes’ drive away. the neighbourhood was quiet and felt safe. The bed, sofa and dining sets were comfortable.

1. the bathrooms could have done with some hooks for towels and clothes. 2. There was no hand soap provided. This seems like a basic necessity even for self-catering properties. 3. speaking of basic necessities: while I appreciated that they provided one toilet roll per bathroom/toilet, making a total of 3, that was barely/just enough for four adults and a toddler over 3 nights. It was odd to provide toilet rolls but without any spares in the house. 4. The management team was appalling. I called on Monday morning requesting for toilet paper. the person who answered said they would check with the local team and call me if it wasn’t possible to do so. I never received a call back and there were no extra rolls when we got back to the house in the evening.
