Good price for location, friendly owner, unclean

Good location. Phil was friendly. Bed was comfortable.

Very unclean. Toilet had a sh*t unflushed in it. No hand soap. Very unhygienic conditions, as a solo female traveller I felt a bit unsafe. Phil was friendly (met him after he woke up) but I would prefer if he was awake to meet me when I checked in as I really felt I was in the wrong place

It was not comfortable unfortunately

The room seemed to be reasonably clean and the host was nice and helpful.

The bath didn’t have a shower head so we could not shower and the bathroom was not clean. The house also had a funny smell.

Good for a short stay

- The bed was really comfy. - Overall, a good place to stay, but for a short time. If you plan it for a long visit, the conditions would not be as plausible. For one to two nights' stay it was very nice.

- The shower was not that clean. - The house is far from the centre, but it is my mistake that I haven't checked the location.

Never got in so no idea if I would have liked it.

I was not able to enter the property. The self-enter key did not get me through the communal front door. 20 minutes of ringing the bell got no reply, neither did my messages. No response to any communication either via the app or via customer service.

Creepy place with no shower and no lock

It was fairly cheap

No shower! No lock on the door! There is an internal window that overlooks the bed. Also the man who lives there is pretty dubious. I would ABSOLUTELY NOT stay here if I were a woman on my own considering these things.

Boys Night Out

The host was great, very accommodating and very friendly.

It's a guy's apartment, it was clean and adequate for a guy but not really suitable females. The place was clean enough for me, however my daughter felt a bit uncomfortable. Whilst the bathroom had been cleaned, it was old and in a poor condition e.g. no shower, no door locks, no curtain, or door hook to hang towels, clothes or any other dry or wet accessories. The bedroom was very comfy but the windows were falling apart. As we were leaving, i thought it would be nice to open the windows and curtains to get some fresh air in the place. After spending 10 mins trying to get it opened, i realised just how unstable it was and thus spent another 30 mins trying to close it. Similar stories with the kitchen and front room. It was an above average "Guy" cleanly place but below average by most "Female" standards (i.e. if you weren't looking you would not have seen anything. However, if you moved any furniture, dropped something under the sofa or decided to hunt for an alternative plug socket, you would realise that a guy cleaned the place (I.e. only cleaned the visible dirt) Whilst its hard to make an old place look new, a minor suggestion would be to stock the kitchen with some basic necessities e.g. milk, coffee, tea, sugar etc. These little touches go a long way. Apart from that like I said, the host was great, very accommodating and friendly. If I ever need to return to Oxford again on my own, I would go back there, it's worth the money.

inaccurate description of contactless check-in, Not only is the cleanliness in general good, also the overall, absolutely run-down furnishings, especially those in the kitchen and bathrooms. I was partly disgusted. Because you can't really shower. You can only bathe lying down. There's no shower head with a curtain. The private room is just about acceptable, if you weren't allergic like me. The room smells absolutely musty. I got asthma attacks from the dust in the night. Absolutely a health concern.

READ CAREFULLY

Host was friendly. Good price considering the proximity to Oxford city centre.

SINGLE FEMALES, whom the host feels comfortable calling unwelcome TWATS online, SHOULD NOT BOOK. Toilet and bathroom are separate, both toilet and bedroom cannot be locked. Toilet is not clean and there is no soap. There is no shower head so you have to wash yourself in the bathtub using a water container. As a couple, the stay was fine and nothing happened, but you can't expect luxury or comfort for that price.
