Beautiful Countryside Cottage Alnwick

The location is really great for access to the town's facilities and attractions. Great walk from the door if you have a dog. The cottage is located on a nicely planned out estate. Easy access to the countryside and coast. The cottage was spacious and comfortable with a handy courtyard and parking.

The mattresses were a bit springy. There weren't enough utensils in the kitchen like cutlery and knives. Bigger mugs for a decent sized cuppa would be useful.

Property was clean, well appointed and had everything we needed. Would recommend.

Dirty sheets and pillow cases Bedrooms with no windows Pots with loose handles Pots with badly scrapped nonstick surfaces Only 1 oven shelf The couch and cushions are in need of a clean, quite a lot of staining Chipped plates Freezer is in need of a defrost Surfaces are quite dusty Tiles in bathroom were slippy after shower Narrow stairs, quite steep Ensuite bedroom door handle fell off in hand Down stairs toilet door sticks and lock is close to wall so bang your hand.

The location was wonderful. Very central and the area was beautiful. The property had the potential to be stunning if it was shown some love and attention. Living room was nice. The main shower was decent and our kids enjoyed watching the horses.

Everything was very tired. The sheets were bobbly and the beds uncomfortable and lumpy. There was a used plaster stuck to one of the cushions on the main bed and the place could generally do with a good clean. On arrive there were towels hanging in the courtyard and a bin bag on the floor - not a nice welcome - told the host - informed the cleaner had had a problem. Toilet was leaking water over the main bathroom floor when flushed - told the host. Nothing done. Handle of en suite bedroom came away in my daughters hand. Told the host. Nothing done. From previous reviews we note most of the issues we had have been reported before and little care shown to rectify. Two bedrooms have no windows and one of which is a cupboard with a bed in it. This is not clear in the listing photos. The kitchen was close to useless. If you are self catering, you will struggle. Its really poorly equipped and what was there was filthy. Had to wash up everything before use. There wasnt even a wooden spoon! A welcome pack would have been nice. Its such a shame. The cottage could be so beautiful.
