Appartamento Centro Storico Pepi 22 Firenze

The apartment is in a very convenient location in Santa Croce and it's easy to walk to sites in Florence. There is also a grocery store nearby which was nice to have. The owner, Dominique, was very welcoming. He came to meet us upon arrival, helped with my suitcase on the stairs, and gave us a walk through of the apartment. I had questions before arrival about the stairs and they answered them for me. For anyone wondering about the stairs, ot is up 2 floors to the apartment. Each flight had 2 sections with 8-10 steps each, so about 18 per floor. Other reviews had commented on the staircase being narrow, but it was normal for us. One person with luggage has no problem getting up with plenty of space in our experience. Overall, we enjoyed our stay

The only inconvenience we had others have occasionally mentioned as well. Intermittently, there is a smell from the plumbing. Dominique said it is related to water pressure in the city. We smelled it in one restaurant we walked through on our visit as well. It didn't happen all the time. And, we found it helpful to keep the sink plugged and toilet seat cover down when not in use. While not ideal, we still had a good visit. I think it would only be an issue for anyone sensitive to smells.

Location is excellent. All main city attractions are within walking distance. Apartment gives unique experience of feeling how it would be to live your life in Florence.

Refreshing kitchen aids could do, for those who would like to cook :)

The location was the major positive - very close to a lot of major attractions. Room sizes were decent, beds were spacious. Kitchen amenities were good as well. Overall, the apartment was worth the money spent.

The host didn't check us in although it was mentioned that in the check in email, which complicated the city tax collection process. Also, there were mosquitoes in one of the the bed rooms. The other major nuisance was the pungent smell coming from the drainage sewer pipes in the bath room attached to the master bed room which was unbearable some times.
