Outstanding views, cozy place with great amentities.

Some good points....but I won't be back.

Excellent location with lovely view. Comfortable beds and sofas. Plenty hot water and good shower.

If (like me) someone has mobility issues this property might not be suitable given the 10in. Step down into the bathroom and second bedroom with no grabrails/handles. If this was highlighted before I booked then I missed it. I also failed to read enough reviews. Tv didn't work and host told me just happened. Reviews suggest otherwise eg months. No info left eg re how to use heating. No dishwasher or washing machine to leave info for so short breaks only? Microwave but only microwave-safe dishes were the mugs. Compact- eg dine with iron and ironing board at your shoulder and could probably dry your hair kneeling on the sofa but I didn't try. Even given Skye prices this was a lot of money for a converted shed of dark painted plywood decor.

Views stunning, property was not one I would stay in again

The view is outstanding.

Would not recommend as very poor cleanliness, dirty bedrooms and bathroom, mould in various places, cobwebs, damp and dirty. Feels really grubby and could do with redecorating along with a good clean. The t towels not changed, kitchen sponges smelt and clearly not changed for a while. Their site pictures do not reflect the actual, the whole place was dusty with cobwebs. Hosts said they were mortified and would have a word with the cleaners but no solution offered. Because I asked for a partial refund was told that I was looking for issues so I could ask for a refund which couldn’t be further from the truth. They were unwilling to compromise and was a dreadful experience.

Great view but low quality

This place has a wonderful view from the front.

The uneven floors and multiple steps. No house instructions to explain general operations eg. Shower. Water pressure is very low in the shower and toilet.

Stunning location - Pricey in summer.

Stunning location overlooking the water. Very quiet. Well decorated. Host very friendly and helpful.

I mean we stayed here in the peak of tourist season so it’s not surprising. But we paid a lot for what’s essentially a very well decorated little shack. Don’t get me wrong the place is lovely and the host was super helpful and friendly. But it’s disproportionally expensive for what it really is. But again, that’s Skye in summer.

Very expensive

Location

While the place is generally ok, it was extremely expensive for what it is offered. 680 eur per night WTF! 1) there was no internet and the tv didn’t work. The host let me know about the problem the day before we arrived and it wasn’t fixed. 2) the blanket of the main room stank 3) we found cups and plates dirty 4) there were limited essentials such as: only one toilet paper (it might be enough for 2 nights 3 people, not for an emergency), not body soap, only 4 napkins.

Worst value for money for any accommodation I ever booked; get another booking on Isle of Skye!

- location on the Isle of Skye - view of the lake (with caveats; see below) - cleanliness (with caveats; see below)

- decrepit apartment - built from cheapest building material (pressed particulate boards, over which a layer of paint was put; screws visible in many places; similar build to a garden shed) - probably rooms were added later to an existing one-room building, as the hallway to the rooms is sloped and there's a step going down into one room and bathroom - kitchen cutlery very basic (i,e. a cheap £2 cutting knife that got dull after cutting 3 tomatoes) - squeaky, cheap mattresses & beds - cheap linoleum for bathroom floor, that was not glued properly to the floor and maybe water and/or mold could accumulate underneath - yeah, it was clean when we got there, but in the context of cheap floor carpets that accumulate tons of dust, as all carpets do - view of the lake could be obstructed by cars/vans parked in front of the property on the road that passes between the house and the lake - accordingly to the poster, you have to clean the kitchen when you leave because the owner cannot be bothered to do so - with the excessive amount of money charged for one month for this shed, the owner of the property could make this apartment livable, but he prefers to spend it on his Porsche To sum it up: we stayed in worse apartments than this in 30 years of travelling, but we NEVER stayed in worse value-for-money (we paid over £500/night for this). If this is the last apartment on Isle of Skye (as it was when we booked it), then it's better to book something not on the island, or visit Isle of Skye next time, when you book the accommodation at least 6 months in advance.

I would not recommend this cottage.

Sofas were very comfortable.

Very dark paint throughout the property Beds and dining chairs very uncomfortable. Building work going on in next door cottage which we had not been warned about. The builders stopped working at 8pm and recommenced at 8am. I didn’t park my car in front of the property as the area had some debris from the building work.

A pleasant place to stay on the Isle of Skye

I highly recommend this accommodation. Our stay at The Moorings was excellent, the location was very good for us, and the place was calm and quiet. The house is welcoming, clean, and very well equipped, as well as having an excellent view.

Bello ma non ci tornerei!

La posizione è ottima, proprio davanti il mare, e la vista è pazzesca. Il soggiorno è grande e con un tavolo da pranzo comodo per 4 persone. Le camere da letto sono un po’ piccoline ma sufficienti. Il riscaldamento autonomo è efficiente. La cucina è ben fornita e dotata di tutto il necessario.

La casa è un prefabbricato, anzi un unione di più prefabbricati: il bagno, per questo motivo, non riesce a riscaldarsi bene e non essendo dotato di finestra è sempre un po’ umido. La casa non era pulitissima, sul lampadario c’erano delle ragnatele. Quando siamo arrivati sui letti c’era solo un’asciugamano grande (e non la classica coppia asciugamano doccia e viso), ho richiesto una seconda asciugamano e il proprietario mi ha detto che ne lascia solo una per una questione ambientale, mi sono sentita presa in giro! Da un’appartamento che costa quasi mille euro al giorno ci si aspetta almeno una coppia di asciugamani! Comunque dopo qualche ritrosia abbiamo avuto il nostro secondo asciugamano, anch’esso grande, segno che solitamente non viene fornito un asciugamano per il viso.
