Amazing!!!

Everything! It was very comfortable and well stocked with what we needed to cook. The beds were comfortable and I really appreciated Melanie reaching out asking if my kids would want the beds separated. Overall just an amazing house with a priceless view!

A beautiful, tranquil, and very comfortable stay with a thoughtful host, slightly impacted by minor maintenance issues.

The rest of the house was beautiful, very well presented, and exceptionally comfortable. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the towels were fluffy and luxurious, comparable to a five-star hotel. The setting was peaceful and relaxing, and the owner was very thoughtful and hospitable, with a welcome bottle of wine and local organic chocolate, which was a lovely touch.

The washing machine/dryer was not working during our stay, and the water pressure in the showers were quite weak.

Beautiful, cozy getaway on Isle of Skye.

Beautiful location, peaceful, serene. Wood burning fireplace was a nice added touch for cozy evenings after a day of touring the isle of skye. Hosts made us feel welcome from the moment we entered.

It is not centrally located, but we knew that going in and, if it were centrally located it probably would not been as peaceful as it was.

Beautiful and peaceful home with a lovely view of the surrounding farmland, hills, and water. The home was spacious and well equipped. We had a great time and ended up spending more time at the house cooking and playing games whilst enjoying the views and the long spring days!

Magnificent views, very comfy house, soo peaceful and quiet! Loved it!

Skye Lair is absolutely beautiful, the views are to die for (from every window of the house and from the yard) and the house is very comfortable and well equipped. It sits on the good part of Skye very close to the ferry. Nearby are some beautiful hikes. The towns around are not much but you come here for peace, quiet and stunning views over green hills with sheep and the sound/sea. And all of those can't be beat. It has a nice little garden our kids played in all the time and the beds are very comfy. Parking is easy and the key is in a little box next to the door. Melanie is a great host although you don't actually get to meet her, which is perfectly fine. She's available through email and quick to respond. We don't write reviews often but Skye Lair deserves a good one. This place won't disappoint and gave us a great Skye experience.

if there is some (with the emphasis on some) criticism to be had it would be that the water pressure in the upstairs shower is a bit low, but it worked nonetheless. Also the outside terrace facing the view is a bit small but that's because the house is build on a hill, so we saw why. And you can sit in the garden too. Furthermore the closest supermarket is a 23min drive (but a very beautiful drive that is) so make sure to have enough groceries with you when you arrive. There's no real bakery close by but the oven works well. Lastly the upstairs bedrooms can get a bit hot when sunny. we were there in April so didn't bother us much. But in full summer you might have to sleep with the windows open. O and you need a car as the location is beautiful, spectacular but not easy to reach without a car.

Beautiful home inside and out.

The property was exactly as advertised! Well-appointed in all areas and perfect for spending the evening enjoying the wood burner when the weather wasn’t great. Good parking, great views, very relaxing. Access instructions were very clear and Melanie provides a fantastic guide for using the house and enjoying the surrounding area.

Awesome property but no air conditioning in the bedrooms.

The property is neat and clean. Awesome location. Easy to check-in. Free parking is available. The kitchen is well-equipped. Clean bed sheets and towels. A five-star property.

There is no Air conditioning in the bedrooms. The rooms tend to get very hot and it is impossible to sleep. If you open the windows then insects come inside the rooms. We had to sleep in the living room which has the air conditioning.

A truly exceptional place to stay

Skye Lair is a truly wonderful place to stay. The view from inside is superb down the hill to the sea. A welcome gift of wine and chocolate, great coffee, logs (and kindling and firelighters supplied) ready to burn. A wonderful well-furnished open plan living/dining space and comfortable beds contribute to a feeling of a much loved property and desire to provide the best for Skye Lair guests.

Genuinely difficult to find ways to improve on our stay here.

This house has a marvellous location, beautiful views across the countryside and across the Sound of Sleat to the mountains. It is really well equipped and spotlessly clean. The host provided helpful instructions and tips on the local area. We really liked the area and enjoyed exploring the Sleat Peninsula and the Cuillin Hills. We would love to come back and stay again!

The views from every window, the design of the house, everything spotless, very comfortable and well organised. A nice welcome note and goodies. A feeling of peace and happiness the moment we walked through the door.

Bathroom (especially the shower) needs shelves& hooks - nowhere to put toiletries, towel or clothes.

Absolutely beautiful accommodation... Location is lovely, quiet and full of sheep! Our little girls age 2 and 7 loved the place! Superb. Can't fault at all and the complimentary bottle of wine and milk was an added most welcome bonus as well as the wood for the fire. The spec of the accomodation is top notch! Love love

Beautifully designed, light open house with wonderful views.

For us this was a great location. The hosts had given us really good directions on how to get there - which was great as I'm not sure we would have found it without them. The house was spotlessly clean and well designed. The bedrooms were light and comfortable. There was plenty of room in this house and all of the amenities you need while travelling. Checking in was easy and the hosts thoughtfully left a bottle of wine and some shortbread for us which was really appreciated.

Tous, les petites attentions à notre arrivée. L'équipement de la maison est vraiment parfait, il ne manque rien ! La maison est très bien pensée et agréable, gros plus avec le poil à bois qui donne une super ambiance. Le silence pour dormir. La vue est exceptionnelle !

C'est difficile de trouver quelque chose qui ne va pas avec cette expérience. Juste le lit qu'on a trouvé un peu ferme, mais c'est plus une question de préférence qu'un vrai problème. De plus, les stores des veluxe qui commencent à légèrement laisser passer la lumière. Mais que ça soit clair, aucun autre logement n'a fait mieux sur ce point-là.

Ein Traum!

Einfach alles! Es ist traumhaft. Hier bekommt das Wort „Lichtdurchflutet“ einfach eine ganz neue Bedeutung. Man hat den ganzen Tag die Sonne im Haus und bekommt unfassbar gute Laune. Von der Ausstattung her ist wirklich an alles gedacht. Es gibt sogar Babygeschirr. Man will hier am liebsten unmittelbar einziehen und nie wieder weg.
