Lovely old place & aspect (overlooks a nice garden & church). Very central.
Nice pool (although shared with the adjacent pool house & the loungers & pool furniture were only for the pool house guests, we could only use the pool).
Good potential to make it a great rental experience with just a bit more TLC.
Some extra info to find it would be helpful (especially given that others have struggled to find it).
Kitchen small (dishwasher difficult to open/shut), very little workspace if you want to cook a lot (& no baking trays), some of the glasses had to be washed before use (as did the percolator).
Fridge has no freezer compartment so cannot make ice (they did give us a small tray of ice cubes when we saw them supply the pool house with a bag of ice).
There is a trundle bed at the top of the stairs (not on the listing) which they thought we should use rather than the sofa bed for some reason (no bedding for the latter , had to take it from the trundle bed). Think the trundle is meant for children as useless pillow & also squeaks with every slight movement. In a cupboard at the head of the trundle, the pump makes a very loud, awful noise if the toilet is flushed or any tap is turned on. (so none of the latter possible during the night/early morning without a very rude awakening!).
Listing says free toiletries - rather a joke as 3 very tiny bottles, one of which was half empty.
Listing also says toilet rolls but there only one in each toilet (& when asked for more, the response was “we are not a hotel”).
There was only one toilet brush , so had to keep switching it between the bathroom & downstairs loo.
No hand towels supplied, just a bath towel.
The 2 sets of curtains for the high windows in the bedroom & landing (where trundle is) do not shut all the way across, so lets the light in quite early (bedroom set hanging off a bit).
It could be such a nice place, but just seemed to be one niggle after another so it rather spoils the experience, which is not expected when paying £500 a night.

Absolutely stunning property in the center of town and yet away from the hustle and bustle. We couldn’t have asked for a happier place to land and relax. And the hosts were beyond charming!
The upstairs can get quite hot on particularly warm days. And the low beams are a watch-out for tall folks. But neither issue would dare keep me from returning!

The location (once we found it) was fab. The cottage was warm and cosy, just perfect for a couple two nights. We walked to the train station and had a day in London, which was very close and easy.
I don’t think the write up for the property very is clear, I didn’t know until arriving that the property had no parking & was in the owners back garden. Parking then was an issue, as max 24 hrs stay & then a no return within an hour rule, not ideal when you aren’t around the next day to move car / update ticket. We struggled to find the cottage once we’d parked & could have done with knowing it wasn’t visible from the road, or even an offer to come outside & wave us down, knowing we couldn’t see it. The other downside was the hot tub. We had no prior warning that to use the hot tub, it would take up 4 hours of our stay to even prep it, 2 to fill and 2 to heat. I asked the owner if they could fill it, we would heat it, but it wasn’t an option. So we didn’t bother, as not enough time. Slight difference there little niggle was no corkscrew to open our wine & I couldn’t find any scissors to remove a tag from new clothes. Other than this, we still had a lovely stay.

Such an old property, with loads of character.
Close to all attractions.
We had an issue with the TV and the host sorted it straight away.
We didn’t stay longer!
