Luxury eco-cottage with a fireplace and a large fenced-in yard for your dog, located between the Schlei and the Baltic Sea, including a manor sauna and an electric vehicle charging station! The Rote Kate is an exceptionally charming eco-friendly half-timbered house situated between the Schlei fjord and the Baltic Sea. It is part of the historic Priesholz estate and dates back to the 19th century. Following a very careful renovation using exclusively sustainable, eco-friendly building materials, this gem has been preserved and, thanks to the use of clay plaster, now offers our guests a wonderful indoor climate. It is heated with a highly innovative radiant wall heating system. Of course, a wood-burning stove is also available for cozy winter days. In the two bathrooms and the bedrooms, old beams have been repurposed to create vanities and beds. A terrace adjoining the house opens onto the tranquil heart of the large, fenced-in garden. The wellness area in the courtyard, available to all our guests, leaves nothing to be desired with its Finnish sauna and infrared cabin. The idyllic location of this beautiful, ecologically sustainable cottage is truly captivating. The tree-lined avenue leading to our estate between the Schlei and the Baltic Sea offers you pure relaxation. From here, you can wonderfully explore the unspoiled natural and coastal landscape of the Angeln region, or take a stroll along the harbor in the nearby Schlei town of Kappeln.
The villages in this rural area are characterized by golden-yellow rapeseed and grain fields, medieval churches, and old thatched-roof cottages with lush farm gardens. The excellent water quality of the numerous natural beaches and the gently rolling landscape promise to be a balm for both body and soul.
In addition, there is a wide range of recreational activities such as surfing, kitesurfing, sailing, tennis, cycling, hiking, walking, canoeing, and rowing.
Culturally, Schleswig, Flensburg, or a side trip to Denmark offer a diverse program of events. We look forward to welcoming you!
