Ueno K

Great location in Tokyo. Very quiet neighbourhood but yet very close to attractions and transport options. Property was very clean and tidy and feature all facilities and amenities needed including luggage storage prior to check-in. Apartment accommodated our family of 5 including three teenagers very well. Host was very attentive to all messages and requests

Nothing to not like about the property.

The space

I wish I have a better idea of how to use the washer and dryer.

Lovely, quiet space but close to the bustling eating areas and stations in Ueno. Easy connection from Narita. Great communication!

The location is great, as it's more residential so we had few issues with sound or commotion from the city. It's also fairly close to multiple train stations.

When we checked in, the air was off/not flowing. For what you pay, air should be turned on prior to guest arrival when it's the boiling summer in Tokyo. Also be warned the hot water may not be automatically turned on, and the panel is above the washing machine. There are no instructions for anything in the apartment, not even the washer, so you'll need to rely on the screenshot they send before check in to use the washer. There's no place to hang bath towels except a rack inside the shower which gets soaked, which got annoying quickly. We had 4 people and no place for towels to go. There are a few little hooks in the bathroom on the emergency door, but they don't support the weight of a towel without falling. There was also only 3 of those hooks, and up to 6 people can stay in the 3 bedroom. The futons feel like you're laying flat on the floor, and the western beds are uncomfortable and small (for two people, and we're already small people). No iron when requested twice, once before check in and once during. The sink is inside of the living room and not in the bathroom, which can be a little awkward if you're travelling with friends instead of family. There is no reception, which is fine, but be warned anyone staying here can arrive at your door. When you click on a number on the elevator, it takes you directly to the door of a room, not a hallway. If someone clicked our floor number, they would arrive at our shoes or anything we left in our entryway. I respected the rule to not bring my shoes inside the room, but I was worried someone would arrive at our floor and take my shoes. I know Japan is very safe with little theft, but what if another traveller had bad intentions? I wouldn't directly say you shouldn't stay here, but please be aware of these things.
