Ueno K

Good location near to Ueno station, Ameyoko market and convenience stores. The neighbourhood was nice and quiet which was good being on the ground floor.

The access arrangement was a little confusing but OK once we got used to it. It was a little small for 4 adults with luggage, but manageable.

It was perfect for a short stay in Tokyo. We had plenty of space and a separate toilet and shower which helped us as a bigger group. Great washing machine, microwave, TV that worked with Apple play, sofa and table. Plenty of cutlery and crockery. The lift was a great help. We were also near to a few stations.

My only negative was the lack of a drying rack for the washing as the washing machine was excellent.

This is a well-located property. In a quiet neighborhood near a busy part of Ueno. Very comfortable for a family of 5. Felt a little tight for 7.

The location is great, as it's more residential so we had few issues with sound or commotion from the city. It's also fairly close to multiple train stations.

When we checked in, the air was off/not flowing. For what you pay, air should be turned on prior to guest arrival when it's the boiling summer in Tokyo. Also be warned the hot water may not be automatically turned on, and the panel is above the washing machine. There are no instructions for anything in the apartment, not even the washer, so you'll need to rely on the screenshot they send before check in to use the washer. There's no place to hang bath towels except a rack inside the shower which gets soaked, which got annoying quickly. We had 4 people and no place for towels to go. There are a few little hooks in the bathroom on the emergency door, but they don't support the weight of a towel without falling. There was also only 3 of those hooks, and up to 6 people can stay in the 3 bedroom. The futons feel like you're laying flat on the floor, and the western beds are uncomfortable and small (for two people, and we're already small people). No iron when requested twice, once before check in and once during. The sink is inside of the living room and not in the bathroom, which can be a little awkward if you're travelling with friends instead of family. There is no reception, which is fine, but be warned anyone staying here can arrive at your door. When you click on a number on the elevator, it takes you directly to the door of a room, not a hallway. If someone clicked our floor number, they would arrive at our shoes or anything we left in our entryway. I respected the rule to not bring my shoes inside the room, but I was worried someone would arrive at our floor and take my shoes. I know Japan is very safe with little theft, but what if another traveller had bad intentions? I wouldn't directly say you shouldn't stay here, but please be aware of these things.
