Just six miles away is the historic town of Llanidloes, built on the banks of the River Severn. It boasts a variety of architecture, including timber-framed black and white houses, with the impressive old market hall being its finest example. There is a good choice of amenities in the town, including antique shops, pubs, restaurants and scenic riverside walks. The renowned beauty spots of Llyn Clywedog with its 236ft dam and Hafren Forest offering watersports and fabulous scenery, are both close by.
