Our host Chris greeted us on arrival and was very welcoming. We had use of the communal lounge and Chris generously provided drinks (brandy and port) home made sangria, apple pie and an assortment of chocolates. It was beautifully decorated for the festive season. The house was in a very central location within walking distance of the town square and the Christmas markets and local bars and restaurants. There was temporary parking outside ( to load and unload) and an underground car park within 200m.

Christine’s apartment was like a home away from home during our long trip. The charming apartment was clean and comfortable with a lovely shared lounge downstairs where we could sip on port or home-made sangria to chat over the days adventures. It was situated in a lovely street, close to everything. Brugge is a very walkable city, and absolutely charming. There were many personal touches that made us feel very welcome in their home, thank you both for our stay.

What can I say about this place. First off, the location is sensational. Right in the heart of Bruges exactly where you want to be, yet on a quiet little street with no noise or distractions. Within walking distance of everything and a bus stop close by to the station and back if needed.
Secondly the accommodation itself. Absolutely beautiful house. We were greeted by Chris, the host, as we entered. She informed us of everything we needed to know and welcomed us as if it was our home. The communal living area was beautifully decorated with Christmas. There was wine and Chris had even made her own Christmas sangria for guests to sit around and share. The room was spotless and so clean. There was welcome chocolate and coffee/tea facilities in the room and it was decorated beautifully.
The communication between us and the host was great. We got full instructions of how to get to and access the property well ahead of time so it was stress free on arrival.
I can't recommend this accommodation enough if you're thinking of going to Bruges then stay here. I will be going back and when I do I will be staying here again without doubt.
Nothing. It was perfect

The location was perfect. Close enough to walk everywhere and far enough for it to be nice and quiet.

The accommodation was perfect. The host was incredibly kind and attentive — she waited for us on arrival and checked in every day to make sure everything was alright and that we had everything we needed. The shared space is beautiful, very well looked after, and truly wonderful. The location is also excellent, very close to the main square and easy to find. We will come back!!
Nothing — everything was perfect.

Location was excellent. Very close to the centre but quiet. The hostess was very friendly and welcoming. The room was beautifully appointed, very clean and well set up. It was wonderful to have access to a lovely lounge room downstairs and the glass of sherry was a wonderful touch
Nothing comes to mind

Everything, I cannot rate this accomodation highly enough, it was fantastic, from the very good communication, the facilities, the room & location was all excellent, 10/10. Would highly recommend and would stay here again 100%. Thank you Chris, the lovely female owner that went above & beyond to ensure her guests are happy, from some lovely home made cake to a tipple on your arrival. Thank you.

Loved the living room with help yourself white and red port and beautiful cake. Chris was lovely when we had a quick chat with her. Location was perfect right off the main square in the old town.
Couldn't fault it.

I stayed in the Van Gogh room and it was even more fun and lovely than I imagined with little steps upon entering the room which made it feel whimsical and even bigger than expected. I was staying in a suite rather than a room. I loved the A-frame ceiling of the room with sink and dishes and dining table in the room as well as two additional sitting chairs in the bedroom and a chair in the bathroom. So many little touches. The specs for the place say no way to heat up food, but there was a fridge and microwave in addition to the kettle and Nespresso machine in the room. It was all lovely. The location was good too. I never met the host or any other guests. I would stay here again.
It seemed that the wifi password was changed while I was there so I could not connect my last evening/morning, but I made do.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Het Geerwijn for our first holiday together, and it couldn’t have been a more perfect choice. From the moment we arrived, it felt like a home away from home, something you simply don’t get in a standard hotel.
The B&B itself is full of character and charm, with beautiful décor and little touches that make it feel so personal. We stayed in the Turner Room on the first floor, which was the only room on that level. It felt private and cosy, almost like having our own little space in a traditional Bruges home. That’s what really sets this place apart, instead of long hotel corridors and identical rooms, you’re staying in a house with history, soul, and warmth.
The location is incredible, just a stone’s throw from all the main sights, yet tucked away enough to feel peaceful. From Het Geerwijn, we could walk everywhere within minutes, which made exploring Bruges so easy.
Chris, the host, was absolutely wonderful. She introduced herself personally, made us feel instantly welcome, and was always available if we needed anything. That kind of warmth and genuine care is something you rarely find in a hotel setting.
There’s also a lovely shared living room with board games and wine available, the kind of thoughtful detail that makes you want to relax and feel at home after a day of exploring.
Overall, staying here gave us a much more authentic and memorable Bruges experience than any hotel ever could. If you’re looking for something truly special, I can’t recommend Het Geerwijn enough.
While breakfast isn’t provided, there are plenty of great cafés nearby, so it was never an issue for us.

Location. The shared living room was very nice.
While some may find it charming, this property is old as is the furniture and equipment in the rooms. The property is not equipped for weather above 30 degrees. No air conditioning or way to make draft through the room. My room could not avoid the sun at any point of the day and being in an old stuffy room in high heat was extremely unpleasant. The bathroom was small and needed an upgrade.
The property asked for an additional payment via a third party website before arrival. They gave me a choice between a security deposit or liability insurance, both of which add fees to the price already paid for via booking.com. Furthermore, they direct you to this third party website which they redirects you to another service. This added confusion and uncertainty about how trustworthy Het Geerwijn and these third party services really are.
The most problematic thing is that I could not get an invoice for my stay which I needed to get reimbursed by my employer since this was a business trip. I asked for it a day before leaving but there was no one on site to help me with this when I was leaving the property. I then spent months trying to get in touch with the property with no success. No response to messages on booking.com or emails. The phone number provided with the reservation is not the phone number of Het Geerwijn but rather the contact number of a parking service in Brugge. I even tried getting assistance from booking.com but they themselves could not issue the invoice nor could they get in contact with the property.
Since I could not get the invoice, I could not get reimbursed by my employer for the stay in Het Geerwijn. On top of that, I have wasted so much time trying to get the invoice... time I will never get back. Why is Het Geerwijn still listed on booking.com?!

Quiet, but convenient location. Quick walk to all the sites a visitor would want to see. Very clean and comfortable room. All of the communications before the stay were clear and concise. I never needed to contact anyone for missing or incorrect information. Would definitely stay here again.

No elevator. 2nd floor stairs are very narrow.

This venue was lovely! The accommodations were charming. The location was perfect - a quiet little side street a 5 minute walk to Grote Market. The hostess was friendly and helpful. She also gets points for being a timely and informative communicator. Extra points for her rhubarb pie recipe - yummy!!
If you are looking for hotel/modern amenities like an elevator or daily housekeeping, this isn't the place for you.

Great location lovely property
It was ok for us but the stairs are very steep just incase any one elderly would find it difficult

Very central location and extremely easy from there to walk around Bruges. The location is within minutes walk of many sights, restaurants, bars and shops.
The house is beautiful and there is a common room (sitting room) by the entrance. The owner put some freshly baked cake there for the guests to take. Lovely touch!
We had a loft room, which was very warm. Appreciate it was much warmer than usual and there is not much that could have been done. The owner did put a fan in the room, which helped a but.

The location was absolutely perfect in the heart of Bruges. Yet it’s very quiet and easy to rest. The room itself was very comfortable, clean and secure. I also loved the living room, which was great for relaxing and reading in. My girlfriend and I had a lovely stay. Also Chris was very friendly and accommodating.
Nothing to speak of, we loved it

Friendly greeting when we arrived, clean and comfortable. Great location. Nice coffee maker.
Small things really: Room a little bit small and banged head on sloped ceiling a couple of times. Unexpected extra deposit/insurance charge on top of booking.com price would be nice if price was the price.

Nothing not to like really.

Privacy was important for us and I think it was provided very well. The addition of coffee capsules when they were running low, the refreshments in the common area, the clean things, the fact that everything was tidy when we arrived, the atmosphere of the house that took us to the history of the place were some of the many good examples.
On the second day we had a wifi connection problem, but we had internet and we didn't do much social media so it didn't matter. On the first day, the hot water was intermittent for a while but never after that. We also opened the valve of the hot water honeycombs, but there was not much heating, but the house was in China.

Perfect place for a few days in Bruges.
Close to the city center.
A Supermarkt very close.
Comfy bed with more than one pillow each if needed.
Very pleasant land lady who sent good information before arriving and let us use the livingroom for our baggage after checking out.
If I’m to say something negative I’d have to mention the steep and narrow staircase.
We managed though so not a problem for us.
A fridge would have been nice, but understandable to hard to fit in the room.

Fantastic location which was in easy walking of all the sites of Bruges. The property was clean, comfortable and accommodating.
The shower trays took a while to drain and the hot water for the shower in the Turner room wasn’t very reliable.

The information received prior to arrive was great and had no trouble finding the address. on arrival the host gave us a welcome with Port on the table (tasty) She gave us a quick review of the area but more importantly recommended some great bars and restaurants . We tried them all and would suggest she knows where to go. Although no breakfast included the location is such that you are 50 yards from a supermarket with all fresh produce or better still the best coffee house and bakery poss 40 yards that does the best breakfast cakes and breads Ive had. The premises id 100 yards from the centrlal square yet I heard no noise and slept like a baby.
One word of warning the BnB is not for those with disabilities and the stairs are very shallow and steep.
Wooden floor in bedroom but they did go with the decor of the house, dont be put off.
