Villa Saona

Our group of 6 had a really enjoyable stay overall and thought the villa was actually bigger than it looks in the photos. The bedrooms were a good size, with comfortable beds and air con in each one. The outdoor space was brilliant, with a lovely pool, hot tub and plenty of seating, as well as a BBQ. There was also a pool table and a ping pong table, which gave us plenty to do. The location was convenient. There’s a small supermarket around a 10 minute walk away, although the larger/better supermarkets are a bit further. Taxis down to the beach, restaurants and bars were only around €5, and it was a similar price to get to Marina Rubicón for the weekly market, as well as lots more shops, restaurants and bars.

The overall cleanliness could have been better, and there appeared to be some marks that looked like blood stains on one of the mattresses underneath a thin mattress protector and sheet. We also encountered a few cockroaches and ants during our stay. The villa was quite lacking in basic cleaning and kitchen supplies. We were only provided with two dishwasher tablets and there was no washing up liquid, sponges or anything else to keep the kitchen clean during the stay, so we had to buy these ourselves. There was a broom and dustpan/brush, which was useful. There were enough plates and bowls, but cups, glasses and some other kitchenware were limited, and we couldn’t find any trays suitable for using in the oven. We were also only provided with one toilet roll per bathroom, so we had to buy more ourselves. We do feel that a few more personal touches would have made the villa feel a little more welcoming and homely.

Great location and villa was huge! Swimming pool and hot tub were great.
