COZY HOUSE IN AN ISOLATED PART OUTSIDE KIRUNA

Overall, we really did enjoy the house. As a family of 4, we stayed there just after Christmas in winter. It was very cozy, clean and well equipped. There was enough amenities in the kitchen, which was handy. The house was also very well heated it was never cold. What you need in winter!! There's also a nice fireplace. Note this house is about a 10 minute drive to the town of Kiruna. It's also very close to a beautiful lake, which is frozen in winter - spectacular. You definitely need a car, so hiring a car is essential.

The lighting in the bedroom was a bit dim. I found the host nice enough, though a bit dry in some of the answers, and it took a while to respond to some questions. The shower was a bit poor, but the worst was the hot water tank. It was not enough for 4 people, so you had to take showers at different times, bit inconvenient. Also, there were no instructions for the washing machine/and plugs between the hot water boiler and washing machine - pretty standard and common sense for a host to provide for travellers. Why wouldn't you just explain it easily on a laminated sheet of paper? Instead, we're trying to second-guess and waiting for responses. Also, a bit of warning: the house is in a bit of a semi-isolated area. That part is fine. But trying to find the house at night, in winter, with a car rental is a bit daunting, as a foreigner who is not used to these conditions. The 'street' is very tight, as there is snow and ice all around. And even with Google Maps, it was tricky finding the street and house in the dark. Kiruna gets dark after 2.30pm in winter. I found it very odd the host/owner didn't explain the position of the house in more detail.

A Dream House

The house is lovely, cozy and perfect! It is warm and comfortable, fully equipped kitchen and we have found all the facilities we needed. The location could not be better. Conveniently close to the city center (15min driving distance), but far enough away to provide the best view of the Northern Lights. We were able to appreciate them literally from our front door, combined with the rustic mountain scenery. It was magic! The owner is attentive and responds to chat in seconds, and the neighborhood is very friendly. They warned us when the auroras appeared very strong. I spent unforgettable moments with my friends. Thank you so much for providing this. Looking forward to returning!

Reasonable stay little outside the city centre in Kiruna

The location was beautiful. Away from the city of Kiruna so only useful if you have a car. But it was so beautiful that we could just see the auroras outside our window. Has all facilities needed for a few nights in Kiruna.

The hot water is the biggest problem. Every 2 showers with limited use its empty. And then there is no hot water even in the sink. Big problem when you are with 5 people in the winter. Also the property is relatively old now and it is visible everywhere.

Lovely, warm and cozy cabin in nature

Lovely cabin in nature, surrounded by a few other cabins, the forest and a large lake. The cabin is spaceous, cozy, clean and very warm. The bed is confortable, the hot water was never scarce and the in-hous toilet and shower were ok. Large fully equiped kitchen, dinning area and lounge room. The porch was lovely for morning coffees and spotting northern lights from the confort of staying at home. Lovely walks from the cabin and dog sledding tours 5 minutes away. I can only recommend!

The bathroom needs a little upgrade.

Niet volgens verwachting

De bedden waren prima. Alles wat je nodig hebt is aanwezig in het huis.

Volgens mij is de eigenaar bezig met renoveren, maar er is nog een hoop te doen. Vooral de buitenkant en bepaalde delen van het huis vragen nog aandacht. Er is maar 1 slaapkamer in dit huis. De andere 2 bedden staan in de woonkamer en in een hal. Het huis staat dichtbij de snelweg en de omgeving is erg rommelig.

Authenticité et confort tout près de Kiruna.

“The little adorable red” porte bien son nom! Cette adorable maison rouge est idéalement située à une dizaine de kms de Kiruna au calme, avec une vue magnifique sur un lac. Très confortable, équipements très complets, très bien chauffée en hiver. Rien à redire!

El alojamiento espectacular, muy amplio y cómodo, lugar super tranquilo al lado de un lago y con todas las facilidades. Fredrik el encargado del apartamento muy amable, dispuesto a ayudar en todo lo que pudo y dándonos todas las facilidades posibles. En definitiva un alojamiento de 10.
