Northen lights from your bedroom window!!

I brought my parents to see snow and the north of Sweden for the first time and the cabin location and tidyness were superb. It was a great experience for them and I couldn't be happier.

The bathroom and kitchen sink being outside the cabin is a bit cumbersome at times specially if you need to use them in the middle of the night. But nothing too serious.

An excellent place to stay if you want to see the Northern Lights.

The cabin is only 10-15 minutes drive from Kiruna Airport and Town. The Ice Hotel in Jukkasjärvi is also only about 10 minutes drive from the cabin. The cabin is beautifully situated by a lake (Alttajärvi) which during our visit was frozen and we could walk safely out onto the lake. This gave us an advantageous view of the Northern Lights. Truly fantastic! Out host was also very helpful and friendly.

Not much to dislike with the cabin or where it is situated. It was though very cold when we arrived. Around minus 20 Celsius. Inside the cabin the electric heaters were on but not full heat. That meant that the cabin had an average temperature of only about 8-11 degrees Celsius when we arrived. It took a very long time to get a more comfortable temperature. There is a log burner and logs to burn. It would have helped if the host could have raised the heating thermostats on the electrical heaters before our arrival. Of course what is a comfortable temperature is different from individual to individual.

Nice lakeside view. Fairly easy to find with a sign on the E10 main road.

We booked for 4 adults and was assigned one of the smaller, mobile-style cabins. These are not big enough for four grownups since there is only one proper (small) bedroom with a bunk bed. The second "bedroom" was a hard, squeaky sofa bed in the tiny dining room, squeezed in with a dining table. Once the bed is folded out there is no space left in the room. The kitchen facilities were very basic (no oven or coffee maker) and scattered across the cabin, and kitchen appliances could only be used one at a time to avoid blown fuses. Also, no working internet during our stay. The price was low, but the smaller cabins shouldn't be made available to more than 2 adults. Unfortunately we booked trusting the property's listing for four adults without looking too closely at the pictures and specifications.

Un piccolo rifugio in un posto incantato

La posizione della nostra piccola cabina era semplicemente fantastica: il lago ghiacciato come vista dalla finestra e tutta la natura circostante. Nonostante non ci sia la reception fisicamente sul posto , abbiamo ricevuto un ottima assistenza per tutte le indicazioni necessarie .

Casa perfetta, funzionale, calda, in una posizione favolosa, con sauna e barbecue a disposizione, tenuto ottimamente. Staff gentilissimo. Aurora vista direttamente dalla stanza. Tutto perfetto!

Ziemas atpūta pie ezera ar saunu

Mēs lieliski pavadījām laiku šeit. Izbaudījām mazo saunu pie ezera un redzējām ziemeļblāzmas. Iesaku visiem šeit doties ziemas sezonā, jo ir ļoti skaisti. Naktsmītne (4E) ir ļoti kompakta, bet četri cilvēki var šeit justies ērti. Mājiņā arī bija silts. Grīdas gan nav pārāk siltas ziemā, bet var paņemt čības, tās tāpat noder ejot uz saunu. Un protams īpašnieki ir fantastiski!

Virtuves telpa ir apvienota ar koridoru un tajā ir ļoti maz vietas gatavošanai, bet tā nav pārāk liela problēma. Mājiņa vienkārši ir maza. Bet kopumā viss bija labi

El baño estaba fuera de la habitación. Aunque ya lo sabíamos, no dejar ser muy incómodo, porque tampoco hay fregadero ni lavabo en la casa.

Das Haus macht einen wenig gepflegten Eindruck und ist nicht sehr wohnlich eingerichtet. Es gibt zu viele Stockbetten, die überall im Haus verteilt sind, einen Schlafraum ohne Fenster und zu wenige gemütliche Ecken.

Naktsmītne atradās ļoti tuvu ceļa malai, kas bija ērti, jo nākamajā rītā turpinājām ceļu tālāk.

Naktsmītnei ir dīvains telpu izvietojums. Gatavot principā nav iespējams, jo nav darba virsmas, traucē istabas durvis, kas atveras tieši priekšā vienīgajai darba zonai. Tējkanna ļoti maziņa, ko iespējams pacelt ar visu vadu, lai uzlietu karsto ūdeni, nepieciešams atvienot no rozetes. Ledusskapis smird.. Tualetes un dušas telpa.smird pēc urīna, nebija patīkami tajā uzturēties. Gultas veļa smaržoja pēc mīkstinātāja tik stipri, ka traucēja gulēt. Ir izvelkama dīvāngulta, neparocīga, kad gulta izlaista, istaba paliek nefunkcionāla. Pie terases novietoti dīvainas mucas ar dēļu sistēmu, kāpnes, laikam, lai norobežotu ceļu.

Op autoafstand van Kiruna

Vredige plek tussen de weg en het meer. Het verblijf doet in eerste instantie hoekig aan, maar dat went snel. Bedden lagen goed en in veel is voorzien.

Het warme water voor de douche komt uit een wat kleinere boiler. Net genoeg voor één persoon.

Helposti sai avaimet mökkiin avainsäiliöstä. Mökki oli siisti ja siellä oli kaikki tarvittava. Hyvin sai nukuttua, vaikkakin autotie meni ihan vierestä ja liikenteen äänet kuuluivat selvästi sisälle. Kaunis järvimaisema.

Ovet vessaan ja makuutilaan oli melko raskaat eikä pysyneet auki ilman stopparia.

Localización inmejorable

La localización al lado de un lago pequeño es inmejorable para ver la aurora o disfrutar de la tranquilidad. Los dueños son amabilísimos y hablan español. El alojamiento no es lujoso pero tiene su encanto. Y sobre todo a una relación calidad precio muy buena

Schön, aber nicht ganz die Erwartung erfüllt.

Die direkte Lage am See ist schön. Wobei im Winter der See natürlich nur als weiße Schneefläche zu erkennen ist. Im Sommer hat die Lage sicherlich einen schönen Reiz.

Da allerdings keinerlei Wasser, Waschbecken in dem Haus vorhanden ist, ist es schon umständlich sich nur die Hände zu waschen. Die Toilette und Bad sind in einem Raum und somit schon mal für eine längere Zeit besetzt. Hier müsste wenigstens die Toilette und Bad getrennt sein, wenn es schon von mehreren Unterkünften gemeinsam genutzt wir. Auch mussten die Betten selbst bezogen werden, finde ich auch nicht ok. Auch haben wir die Bettwäsche sehr spät erhalten.

Super Lage für Aurora, nicht sehr komfortabel im Winter

Das Personal ist super lieb und hilfsbereit. Die Hausmeisterin hat uns Bescheid gegeben, wann man die Polarlichter gut sehen kann und hat uns auch zum Bahnhof gefahren. Zudem war die Lage direkt am zugefrorenen See perfekt um die Nordlichter zu sehen. Wir hatten auch das Glück sie besonders intensiv zu sehen, in grün & pink, über den ganzen See ausgebreitet. Die Unterkunft war sehr sauber.

Es gab leider kein fließendes Wasser in unserer Hütte (Lakeside Aurora Cabin). Das Bad und die Dusche befanden sich in einem 40m entfernten Häuschen. Zudem war es sehr eng für 4 Personen und das Schlafsofa ist sehr klein für 2 Leute. Zudem ist die Anbindung sehr sehr schlecht. Im Februar ist der Bus nach Kiruna oder zum Eishotel nur sehr selten (1-2x am Tag) und zu sehr unpraktischen Zeiten gekommen. Daher waren wir auf Taxis angewiesen.
