Perfect place in Kiruna

if we could, we’d give 11/10! We had an absolutely amazing experience! We stayed one night in the igloo — everything was spotless and thoughtfully prepared. The hosts, Tony and his wife, were incredibly kind; they waited for us at the airport even though our flight was delayed, and even offered to take us to the supermarket for anything we might need. They acted like local guides, sharing great tips and stories about the area. The breakfast was lovely, and the cozy little cabin where it was served felt so warm and welcoming. That night, we were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights — Tony came to let us know when they appeared and even took our photos under the lights. It was truly unforgettable. We highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Kiruna. Thank you for everything!

Great location to see the northern lights

Friendly people, great location.

The bedspace in our particular hut wasn’t really well suited for two people. Which wasn’t a problem, because the couch was very comfortable, but still. We would have managed to sleep together up there but it wouldn’t habe been comfortable.

Glass Igloo at an Excellent Location with Aurora Display right at the doorstep!

Our glass igloo stay here was excellent! The bed is very comfortable and the hosts gave us a warm welcome! Although the room is a bit small, it has all the essentials tightly packed in different areas of the room. They also helped us book several activities we were interested in, such as Snow mobiling, Aurora hunting night tour with barbecue, and Day trip to the nearby Abisko National Park. The breakfast spread was amazing and the bread, vegetables, cheese and meat served are fresh and delicious! On the 2 nights we stayed here, we were lucky enough to see beautiful 360 degree vies of the aurora from the frozen river just a few meters away. After seeing enough of the northern lights from outside the room, we could also cozy up inside the glass igloo and see the dancing aurora display straight from our bed! The property also is quite close to forests and on one of the stays we saw a few reindeers roaming around the property in the evening. The stay comes with complimentary pick up and drop off from/at Kiruna train station as part of our stay, and a 1-hour session in the sauna, which is quite a bonus.

Nothing much to add here except that the glass igloo is a bit small and might look bigger in pictures. It's just 10 sq. m. in size, but it's still very usable and manageable. Also an additional point, we preferred to use the common area proper bathroom and used the room toilet mainly for urgencies.

Cozy cabin to experience magic of Arctic Winter at a great location

The stay here was very comfortable and cozy. The apartment was spacious and well equipped with a decent bathroom and a functional kitchenette. We could make breakfast and prepare a light dinner in the cabin. The hosts were warm and welcoming, and they would try to inform everyone in-person if an aurora was visible in the night time. They also helped us book several activities we were interested in, such as Snow mobiling, Aurora hunting night tour with barbecue, and Day trip to the nearby Abisko National Park. The breakfast spread was amazing and the bread, vegetables, cheese and meat served are fresh and delicious! The common cabin features 3 toilets, and is comfortable and spacious enough to have multiple groups of people eat their meals without being too crowded. On 3 of the 4 nights we stayed here, we were lucky enough to see beautiful 360 degree views of the aurora from the frozen river just a few meters away (the first 2 were at the glass igloo). The property also is quite close to forests and on one of the stays we saw a few reindeers roaming around the property in the evening.

Nothing to add here, the apartment is overall good value for money. Although, only if one books the glass igloo will they get a complimentary sauna session and free pickup/drop-off from the train station.

Seeing the stars and northern lights in our own glass igloo!

We stayed in the igloo and it was amazing. Such a cute little “cabin” with glass windows. We were in the edge of the lake. Absolutely beautiful view. The staff were amazing. Tony was extremely helpful!

Not that good value for money

Waking up in the snow was amazing, location is perfect directly in front of the river 15 min walk from the ice hotel, temperature inside the igloo was good and warm and the overall structure and igloo are new and hi-tech. Staff was really nice and helpful, transfer is included.

Igloo was a bit dusty inside, moreover the space inside the igloo is really tiny but you can’t figure out from the pics you can’t even open your luggage. inside the igloo you have no shower and a very uncomfortable toilet you can use only for pee (since it is not a chemical bathroom). There is a tiny sink which is from the little kitchen (you can use only for breakfast because is uncomfortable and too little one to cook in) so you basically have shared bathroom with other guest in the common area (chalet) and you have to dress up and walk around 2 minute to use it and also to cook your own dinner (since there is any restaurant around). Breakfast is self service, in terms that they give you food in the igloo and you have to cook it by your self (I was not expecting that). Even if it is a nice experience because of “mother nature” I think it is not adequate for how much we paid for.

We really enjoyed our stay in the Aurora River Camp! It is beautifully located by a huge lake which, if you are lucky, provides the best place to see the northern lights! Unfortunately, we weren't so lucky as it was cloudy, but this did not take away from our experience! The staff were lovely and very helpful, and even picked us up from our previous accommodation. We were shown around the property and checked in was very smooth. We stayed in the Riverside Glass Igloo, which was great. It was surprisingly warm inside despite it being -20 outside, and it was very cozy! A great bonus is that it had a toilet inside, and even a mini kitchenette! There is also a large cabin with the 'common' areas, which is great to socialise with other guests! The place is also conveniently located near the Ice Hotel, so if you want to visit you can walk there- it's only a 20 minute walk (across a frozen lake no less!!) . Overall, a lovely experience and we will be back!

Unfortunately, the glass ceiling heating on our Igloo was broken on the first night. (The heating ensures that the glass is clear and there is no ice/snow). However, we were offered another night stay for free to ensure that we got the full experience. Thanks once again!

A lifetime experience of staying in a glass igloo in the middle of the winter wonderland.

We found Aurora River Camp a magical place to stay in a winter wonderland. Staying in the glass Igloo facing the frozen Torne River was a lifetime experience for us. We couldn't believe how well-designed and high-tech the igloo was with touchscreen controls for everything and more than sufficient amenities, while overlooking the white snowfield all around. We were amazed to find the hot plate, utensils, freezer, wash basin, and personal WiFi inside the igloo. Once inside, we couldn't believe the outside temperature was -25C with the heating controlled by a touchscreen thermostat. The facilities at the common house for breakfast were more than adequate and the both-way transfer was the icing on the cake.

There was nothing not to like.

Great Arctic Escape

Absolutely went beyond my expectations. Very well equipped igloo. Loved that there was a common area to hang out. Fantastic staff. Thank you for letting us check in early! Although I didn't know this at the time of booking, I loved that we could walk across the river to a restaurant and store. We got lucky and had fantastic weather, meaning it was very clear. Would highly recommend this stay. I don't drive in snow, but if you do even better!

the igloo was a highlight

The glass igloo was an incredible experience! Very comfortable and had a great view! The common house also had great facilities with showers and a kitchen which was close by. The host was lovely. The sauna was nice, a traditional wooden sauna with log fire. We had a hire car and had no problem finding the property in summer. Would highly recommend.

Bring bug spray as there are many mosquitos, especially in summer.

What a cozy cabin! I got a good night's sleep in it. Even though we booked it just a few hours before, the cabin was prepared when we arrived. Also it seemed to have most things you need inside.

The shower didn't have an enclosure so the water spilled onto the bathroom floor very easily. The numbering on the key didn't match the number on the cabin, was a bit confusing at first...

A great camping close to Kiruna, North of Sweden

The location is great and the host/contact person was extremely kind and helpful. Free parking and Wi-Fi. The cabin was comfortable and had everything one needs when traveling and having not always the time or the money to eat everyday in restaurants. It was quiet, clean and comfortable. We felt like at home, especially because we had our private included in the cabin, bathroom.

No complains, except, maybe the interruptions of the WiFi.

The host was the friendliest we've met in our trip. Always open to suggestions and quick with a joke and a smile. The cabin was fully equipped, cozy, and brand new. Unfortunately it was raining so we did not explore too much the surrounding area, but it looked pretty.

Pleasant one night stay

Very clean and nice Cottage. We had all we needed for one night quick stay. Friendly staff, easy access all great. Would be a nice place for a Fisherman with easy access to River.

Ended up sleeping on the sofa (which was comfortable) because the loft was too hot. There was no mosquito net on the window so we couldnt keep it open for the night.

Great I would do it again

We got luck and the northern lights decided to give us a fantastic show... it is much better in real life than any picture, there is no need to any special camera tricks, it is like fireworks without the noise. Bonus we could walk to the town in the other side of the river... through the frozen river itself, great experience.

The place was very cute and cozy, the staff were super nice and helpful :) It was great having a kitchen and the option to borrow serious winter clothing.

Just a note, it is a bit hard to get around without a car, and public transportation doesn’t really get to that area.
