Villa Katerina with Private Pool

Very spacious property, quiet and within walk of supermarkets beach and restaurants

Needed more storage in bedrooms. It was also a bit dark in the downstairs rooms

Beautiful villa, everything you need. Excellent location and very good value for what you get.

Bathrooms and kitchen clean, pool area good, in reasonable walking distance to a couple of big supermarkets (Lidl &SYNKA) -use the Greek supermarket for fresh fish and meat - much better value than Lidl. Swift response from management company when one member of the party had to leave early. 15 minute walk to a lovely beach. Buses were reliable into Chania (use the 21 bus)

Sadly there were several issues - there was no-one to greet us or let us in to the property on arrival. Luckily the driver was able to contact someone so we had a 15 minute wait to be let in. For a late night arrival time there were 2 small bottles of water in the fridge, and a bottle of wine, and no small welcome pack, so for 6 adults that was extremely insufficient. We had to walk a fair way to find a shop that was open at that time of night. No communication within the property about appliances, Wi-Fi, rubbish collection/recycling. We had to buy bbq tools as the kitchen was poorly equipped. It would be difficult to use the villa to its full stated capacity due to lack of space and facilities. The three basement bedrooms had no Wi-Fi and very limited storage (drawers only). There is no lighting around the bbq, and several of the outside lights did not work. Some indoor lights and plug sockets also did not work. The top floor has a huge balcony but only one table, no chairs etc. so could not be used unless we relocated the downstairs furniture. The outside furniture is in need of replacing. It is old, some of it is broken, and uncomfortable. The mattresses on the twin beds upstairs were very uncomfortable - you can feel the springs in them, so we had to move a mattress from one of the unused beds. Communication from the management company is sporadic, and on more than one occasion there was confusion about the extra day we had paid for to enable a late checkout due to an evening flight home, even though this was confirmed more than 2 months before arrival. Sadly there were too many negatives outweighing the few positives.
