Fantastic stay. Great location - walk to the Promenade and beautiful sea walk to the Strand. Public bus outside the door directly to Portrush - to see British Open. Clean well appointed room and great breakfast. Thanks JJ and Marie!

5 stars is an understatement. JJ, Marie, and James make Cul-Erg House what it is: an absolute gem. They are warm, kind, professional, and passionate. These values translate into their bed and breakfast. We had outstanding food. Their Irish breakfast and smoked salmon scrambles are all locally sourced and delicious. I learned about wheaten bread from James and haven’t had one that could rival Cul-Erg’s homemade version. Marie is a mighty cook. JJ was a steady presence throughout our stay and was always there when we had a question or needed a recommendation for the area. This place is a must stay.

The bed and breakfast was first class standard. JJ and Marie were exceptional in their care. The attached coffee shop was ably headed up by James who had the same standard of care and attention to detail. The available use of a little kitchen for storing food or having snacks was very much appreciated.

Parking was limited. We had hoped to leave our luggage before check in time as many places allow but no one answered the door and a sign stated check in time at 3- it was a very nice stay, small but very nice. Everything was very clean and a comfortable stay. Looking online I saw laundry facilities available but not really. A local laundry would do laundry for a cost. The breakfast was very good and our hosts were pleasant and attentive. I would recommend this B/B highly w/ the exception that laundry is not available

We spent 3 nights at Cul Erg House, along with the 2 other couples. We all had a fantastic stay! Marie and JJ were wonderful hosts. The rooms were wonderful, the breakfast was amazing- a large menu, gluten free options as well. The location was perfect for walking to the promenade (about a 10-15 min walk) where there were shops and restaurants. JJ always had great information on where to go to eat and what to do. There was parking on the street and also a driveway around back. We would highly recommend a stay at Cul Erg House!!!

Cul-Erg House was perfectly located for our three day stop In Portstewart to take in the sights and scenery of Northern Ireland’s beautiful Causeway Coastal Route. The friendly owners (JJ and Marie) are second to none and run a great B&B. They set us off on our travels each day with a delicious breakfast and provided us with numerous local knowledge travel tips. We can highly recommend the Cul-Erg House! PS. Great location, close to all the major attractions in the area and within walking distance to restaurants and the city center. The hosts are very friendly and very helpful. The only downside was the non-working heater. By the time we found out it wasn't working it was in the middle of the night and we didn't want to wake up the owners. That was a mistake on my part, because my friend caught a cold as a result.
