Good apartment ruined by inattentive host

Good size apartment. 3 beds was good for our family. A short drive to the water front and accessible to a few supermarkets - by car, not walk. Fully equipped kitchen and decent bathroom with a spa. A positive was a great pizza shop around the corner which sold really cheap pizzas, Pizzamania.

I’ve stayed at hundreds of places on booking.com and this would have been my worst ever experience with a property!!! Communication with host was terrible and ruined our stay!!! After receiving an auto message soon after booking, communications became beyond terrible. A early response said they’d let us in 30mins before checkin. However, even after arriving on time and sending multiple messages, we were ghosted by the owner. Despite the promise of an early checkin, it wasn’t until we called the owner 90mins after checkin did they finally give us the login details. Even then, during the first call, they asked to message them details in booking.com, which I did. I then had to call back 15mins later where he said he wasn’t getting notifications of messages; but he gave us the codes so we could finally get in. (We’re fortunate we had cell service. If we didn’t, who know how long we would’ve waited in the car!!) His terrible communication ruined what was a decent apartment. I can’t understand for someone who has a couple of apartments and has clearly been using booking.com for a long time, claims to not know how to get messages within the platform. It wasn’t a language barrier, it was just terrible customer service! Although we wouldn’t stay here again because of this terrible service, I would advise to ensure you have access codes and details several hours before you arrive. Other things to note: On-street parking only. You might get one of the 15spots on the street, but we ended up parking around the corner. The bath towels were tiny and more like hand towels. Not very practical for adults. The apartment is on the 2nd floor and with no elevators, will need to climb 4 flights of stairs.

Our towels and sheets weren’t clean and fresh, we felt uncomfortable because of its smell. We think that it hadn’t been washed.

Predatory pricing when slight errors are made in a booking...

I liked the apartment, quite big. Nice kitchen with a nice view. The apartment is located in a nice area where you can easily get to.

Let me say I have stayed in many hotels and short term apartments all over the world and never had such a strange experience when an error was made with a booking. I originally booked for 2 people mistakenly for the whole apartment for the 3 days. But my boyfriend was to join us on 2nd day making 3 people total. We informed the owner of this and he asked the boyfriend to pay another €75 per night more that what we already paid. It was quite strange as his price on booking is just €10 extra for 3 people total. We felt it was quite unreasonable to make us pay so much more than the standard price due to a slight mistake. When my boyfriend explained this to the owner he said it was a mistake on booking and then later he said it was because it was a holiday weekend so there are extra charges. None of this charges were mentioned anywhere on booking or communicated by him before. As we had already paid for the whole apartment as stated on booking and the price was so different we didn't feel we should pay such a charge as it had one bed and one sofa bed. My boyfriend kindly offered to pay any cleaning fee or extra charge within reason but the owner seemed to think he could take advantage of the situation to make more money. For reference that same night my boyfriend booked another whole apartment in the same area for €62 for one night so less than he wanted as an extra charge. Customers need to be aware of these predatory pricing practices. As it did leave a sour note on an otherwise nice trip. There was no toilet paper and one of the lights didn't work.

Purtroppo le stoviglie e le pentole erano davvero molto sporche, probabilmente chi le ha lavate in precedenza non le ha pulite bene.

Spazioso appartamento

Appartamento spazioso con ampio salotto e cucina. Molto comodo il self check in. Facilità nel trovare parcheggio. C'erano a disposizione anche delle fette biscottate e Nutella. Un supermercato sulla stessa via.

La casa veramente molto bella e luminosa

L'appartamento è favoloso davvero, spazioso e molto luminoso, molto pulito, offre molti servizi, letto matrimoniale molto comodo, wi-fi, macchinetta del caffè, davvero tutto perfetto, Giuseppe il proprietario molto gentile, disponibile e attento ad ogni nostra richiesta. Poi sotto casa ci sono molti negozi, bar tabacchi, estetista, farmacia, alimentari, pasticceria, a pochi passi c'è un ospedale. Ecco spero di essere stata d'aiuto ai prossimi ospiti che vogliano venire in questa casa. Che dire consiglio veramente a tutti. Alla prossima!
