The apartment is located literally one street from the train station, and the town center is about 15 minutes away by walking. There are a couple of restaurants nearby, as well as a well supplied supermarket (Carrefour City). The kitchen is well supplied, allowing to cook in the apartment with some comfort as if we were at home.

The beds were uncomfortable, which also includes the sofa bed (whose mattress was quite thin). There is an Ikea close by which should be used to refresh the bed qualities. We had the misfortune to spend our time at La Rochelle during a heatwave - but in terms of comfort, there is no air conditioning or fans in the apartment; with no wind during the night, it was extremely difficult to cool down and be able to sleep comfortably. Some of the appliances were not working as intended, such as the cloth dryer which was not in a state to be used, or the shower which had a broken holder for the shower pummel. The host said she would look into replacing the cloth dryer, and was aware of the broken holder - however these were not fixed during our 6 day stay.
