Beautifull well designed accommodation in a stunning location

The accommodation was quirky and had been beautifully restored with lots of great details. The property had everything you’d want for a short stay :)

Great place, but outside lighting not very good, needed a torch to see key box.

Tucked away

Could do with some washing up liquid and a cloth. Bed broken on R/H corner. Couple bulbs gone. Heating was a mystery… on the first night, great then nothing. Had to use electric heater which was either boiling or turned off freezing.

A lovely little gem of a place which was so relaxing and hope to return soon.

Location was amazing set in it's own grounds. So peaceful and amazing views. We said we would arrive at 3pm however the hosts messaged early morning to say that our property was ready and we could arrive anytime which was a nice touch. The whole process was so easy and we really enjoyed our stay. Property was immaculate and well maintained. 100% recommend.

Fantastic

Teds shed is cosy, with everything u need for a fab stop ! Hosts are so accommodating as well, with special little touches to make ur stay even more special. Love the file that shows u the history of the hut and the transformation into Ted's Shed I had already booked another little stop over !

Everything. Exceeded expectations. My wife and I make a point of staying away somewhere new the first weekend of every month. Usually a hotel. This time we thought we would try something different. And we were so glad we did. It’s super cosy, private, quiet, with a great view of the field with horses galloping. There’s everything in there you’d need. The TV can connect to your phones personal hotspot to access Netflix, iPlayer, YouTube, 4od etc… the sofa bed is comfortable. The place is extremely clean. About a 6-7 min drive to lots of places to shop, eat, drink. We will definitely be booking again next year. Thank you

Could the sofa bed not be positioned with bed head in front of the tv? We counted the panelling latts and other than maybe pipes issue it could work. Also means access to the fridge during the night if you need a cuppa? Same as other comments, need a handle on the inside of the bathroom door please. Loved it and will definitely be back.

Quirky but very comfortable accommodation.. very clean and well stocked for needs..good outside space . Liked that it sat in its own grounds.

We personally would have preferred single deck chairs with backs and separate table for outside use instead of bench..we like to sit outside and this would have been more comfortable for a longer time. Just our preference 🤗 we usually pack our own… schoolboy error this time 🤪

Warm cosy ideal night away

Stayed at Ted’s Shed with my dog – a lovely stay! Warm, cosy, and comfortable with everything you could possibly need. The heating was already on when we arrived, which made it feel really welcoming. I felt safe and secure throughout my stay, which made it even more relaxing. We went to the local pub for tea – an ideal walk there and back. The only little issue was that when the bed was down, I couldn’t access the fridge, so had to get out of bed 😂. Would definitely stay again!

Very nice place, with brilliant view

We were a bit lost on the way there, directions were clear on the message from Christine and Nick we just did not realised that distances are much shorter then we thought. Quick and easy access to the property. We had some issues with putting heating on (our fault not pressing button properly), but it was solved very quickly and efficiently. Pull out bed was surprisingly comfy. Views are amazing. Property near main road, but it was so quite. We would definitely recommend this place to others and if we will have chance will stay there again.

It was in a quiet location with lovely scenery and wildlife to observe. The renovation of the shed had been done exceptionally well with attention to detail.

Location is fabulous Local pub The Saxon Inn has excellent food and the service was brilliant Ted's Shed is an amazing place to stay with... Lovely area to sit outside enjoying the beautiful views Very good powerful shower The little kitchen area was well equipped with a Toaster microwave kettle and little Griddle Didn't use the heating so no comment but I'm sure it would heat the place very quickly Perfect stayover for a few nights Great location for seeing Kynren which I highly recommend 👌 Bed settee ok

Highly recommend for unique stay

If you want unique, this is for you. Surprised my husband with a trip to Locomotion and then a stay here with all the wonderful railway touches. Wonderful little deck to watch the rabbits, horses and sunset in the surrounding beautiful countryside. Everything finished nicely inside. Fan provided for cooling down in the heat. Easy to find with owners direction.

Sofa-bed not everyone's favourite for sleeping, but it's part of the experience and would go again.

Ted’s Shed is the perfect place for railway and vintage enthusiasts to stay for a getaway in the birthplace of the railw

I loved the attention to detail with the railway accents throughout Ted’s Shed, as well as the coordinating vintage colour scheme. The restoration had been done to a really high standard, and it was in the perfect location for travelling down the road to Shildon and Bishop Auckland. The sofa bed was also very comfortable and even with the bed up throughout my stay I still had enough room to move about. It was an incredibly peaceful setting and there was everything I needed for a few days away!

These are all relatively minor points that were more apparent as I was travelling alone, but it would have been great to have a door knob on the inside of the toilet door, as it was difficult to shut from the inside without a handle. Similarly, there were times when it was quite windy and it was hard to get the gate to stay open without potentially blowing into my car as I was trying to park - something to tie the gate back once opened would have been a great help, as I was on my own and didn’t have someone to hold it back for me. Finally, I would have appreciated somewhere to recycle my rubbish, as everything went in the same bin rather than having a separate bin for recycling.

Tranquility

I stay away in hotels quite often with work and I find them noisy, too hot and impersonal. This was the opposite. I loved the quirkiness of it and my own space to relax undisturbed in a lovely location with everything I needed. Also to add the heater was incredible and the bed very easy to put up and down in just a few seconds.

Lovely unique accommodation in a quiet area

Had such a lovely stay at Ted's shed - it's such a cute accommodation, so well thought-through with nice little touches throughout (the small wooden mice were a favourite). It has all the amenities you need (shower, toilet, kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge and freezer!), the pull-out sofa bed was surprisingly comfortable and easy to use and it's a nice space to start out on an adventure but also to return to and chill. I loved having breakfast on the porch while watching the horses and enjoying the view. Really quiet as well, so was very relaxing.

Beautifully thought out and was a lot bigger than expected. The heating had been put on before we got there so it was lovely and warm. Everything we needed for our stay and loved the carved little wooden mice! Absolutely can recommend.

Fantastic location, great parking, felt very secure, initially good communication from the owner until I commented on a problem. Mostly clean.

Desperately uncomfortable and actually broken bed! I would take an air mattress for the floor if I returned.

De shed ligt op een hele mooie rustige locatie met een groot stuk grond er omheen. Heerlijke douche.

Helaas was de informatie over het bed niet duidelijk in de omschrijving. Het is een bankbed in plaats van een normaal bed. Wij vonden het niet fijn liggen.
