The door lock, very difficult to open, definitely needs replacing, this could be very dangerous if required to leave property quickly. Smoke alarm was missing the battery so not working. Very tight parking space

Short pet friendly break in the middle of Ambleside

Nice easy and good location

We come to The Lakes and stay in Ambleside every year and this place was the perfect location to be right in the heart of everything! We were close to shops, restaurants, cinemas, park etc. would highly recommend and most definitely will stay here again.

Nothing to dislike just a few improvements if possible - The Keys are hard to get in an out so difficult to unlock the door. Also no washing machine - although there is a laundrette not far away it’s just ease having that in your home especially on a walking holiday I just think it’s an essential. Other than that it’s a superb place to stay!

The net curtains made it look unappealing from the outside. Maybe need replacing with something brighter. The uneven floor upstairs was weird!

Cosy and clean. Location was excellent. In the middle of town but down a small road so no noise.

The floor on the second floor is slanted which was strange but didn’t cause a problem.

Conveniently situated cottage in a popular Lakeland town

Central location on a quiet street with very little passing traffic and very few pedestrians. We were glad of the spare bedroom when either of us was restless. The lounge-diner was light and spacious. There was an iron although this wasn’t listed.

The two front door keys in the key safe were not identical. One or both were a poor copy of the original. I can’t remember a single instance of the keys working without half a minute of jiggling before the lock suddenly yielded. Other reviews have mentioned the same problem. The helpful contact assured us that the issue will be addressed. Future reviews will reveal progress on this. There was unnecessary uncertainty about bin collections - the relevant section of the South Lakeland District Council makes this clear. A print-off of the relevant page would have been convenient. Some of the cords for the blinds / drop-down curtains were frayed and appeared on the verge of breaking. Again, we were assured this was in hand.

Very comfy cottage within Ambleside

Great location in Ambleside. A quaint local cottage that was clean and comfortable. We had a four member group and we all enjoyed our stay.

The entry door was difficult to unlock, but was manageable after working out the correct method. However the key box was also difficult to open and close, making getting in the cottage the first and last time very frustrating.

We really enjoyed our stay in Ambleside but the cottage was a mixed bag.

The location is first-rate. The lounge has a wonderful, traditional feel. Perfect parking immediately outside the front door. The central heating and hot water were instantly available.

On arrival, the second bedroom was freezing cold as the radiator wasn't working. The outside temperature was 4/5C during the day, dropping to zero at night so we found the cottage cold, other than in the lounge. We arrived on Thursday and the radiator was mended on Saturday morning prior to our leaving on Sunday morning. In the meantime, we had spent £19 on a portable heater. The details on Booking.com stated there was underfloor heating in the kitchen. There was no heating at all in the kitchen. The WiFi never worked during our stay causing a drain on our phone data. Netflix was advertised but this never worked either.

Absolutely loved the central quiet location ideally situated 2 mins from Main Street,comfy bed,clean.spacious .Useful w machine too .Nice size bathroom too .

Nothing :we didn’t like .Everything was perfect.Spent 3 nights here whilst storm darragh hit ,.so a welcome teabag ,coffee sachet I think would be a useful extra on arrival and maybe a Xmas decoration .Will Definatly book again .Thanks

Die Lage war super und das Häuschen sehr gemütlich eingerichtet. Die Heizung hat hervorragend funktioniert und die Küche war gut ausgestattet. Alles war sehr sauber.
