The location of the house and interior.

No pool, in the estate or house. The one room was separate above the garage

The location was exactly what I required. Safe estate set up with 24/7 security controlled access in the heart of central Drakensberg. You are left to yourself to enjoy the stay with a beautiful view of the mountains.

issues with a few things, firstly the wooden flooring is a good idea however in certain spots like between the side door and dining table the floor seems to be ‘soft’ as the wood has starting to warp. Usually I won’t mind this but it can be dangerous for kids as they can easily trip over or it can cause an elderly person to miss balance. Secondly ALL FRIDGES available need to be re-gassed or rubber on their doors re-done as they were not effective AT ALL. Over my 4 day stay fresh milk was spoilt on day 3 due to the kitchen fridge not keeping items cool enough. The kitchen fridge door swings open by itself as well. The en-suite bathroom with only a hand shower needs to be looked at - the door does not close fully causing water to leak all around the place. The hand shower fixture itself is loose as well. Additionally, the common open areas can do with some ceiling fans and perhaps AC in the bedrooms. The fireplace is a great feature for colder days but the house does get adequate sunshine in summer and heats up inside - if closed up with no ventilation, it takes forever to cool down. Lastly a pool or jacuzzi will be a welcomed addition to make the stay even more enjoyable, especially for larger groups / families. Considering the price paid, and the property belonging to the ‘Pangolin Collection’ I did not expect the above to have been an issue at all to begin with. If these are looked into and resolved I’m positive future guests will enjoy their stay.

The location was fantastic. There were incredible views of Cathkin Peak and Champagne Castle from the property. The estate included amazing wildlife including zebra and buck. The estate felt like a retreat - but is conveniently located near to to local attractions and activities including, hikes, golf, the Champagne Valley Bakery, etc.
