Welcome to the description of Tutu’s Cottage! What do I love about Hanalei? So many things, but to name a few: - Hanalei and the surrounding areas boast regular top rankings for their beautiful beach (Hanalei Bay), spectacular volcanic mountains with cascading 3,000+ foot-long waterfalls, walking, hiking and biking trails (famous Na Pali Coast), and the nearby Prince Golf Course in Princeville. - One of the best things about Hanalei is that there are no hotels, no condos, and very few sidewalks as we enjoy the rural and more quiet atmosphere; Hanalei is a small tropical town with a fun surfing vibe. - The restaurants and other small businesses are mainly family owned/local establishments that will adequately and pleasantly meet your needs during your stay! What do I love about Tutu’s Cottage? Tutu’s Cottage has a welcoming home-away-from-home feel for your visit to tropical Hanalei. With a fantastic location, you will be within WALKING DISTANCE to both the BEACH (5 min.) and center of TOWN (3 min). Our cottage has two lanais, with the backyard lanai having an unobstructed, breathtaking view of the Hanalei mountains (after a rain, you will see beautiful waterfalls cascading down the mountains). The kitchen is well equipped, the yard is very private (no neighbors behind our cottage), and I should mention the outdoor shower (with hot water) – you will love this after your day at the beach! From palm trees in the front yard, to the back yard with a private and magnificent mountain view, I know you will love this property as much as I do! We keep our house extremely clean! Our cleaning fee is a reasonable $260.

This house is in the perfect location. Literally a 2 minute walk to the town and 5 minute walk to the beautiful beach.The house itself had anything one would need on their stay in Hanalei. Tons of Towels, toys, a cooler, wagon…The outdoor shower was our favorite amenity ;)Thank you so much! We will be back!

This cottage was absolutely the perfect place for us. Short walk to the beach. Even shorter walk to the grocery store and shopping. The gas grill was a perfect way to fix delicious meals at the cottage and save tons of money on eating out every day. The covered porch is where we found ourselves at least twice a day, chatting over cocktails and people watching. Great neighborhood. With a 3 week stay, we walked a lot and checked out all of the rental locations. Hands down, TuTu's Cottage is THE place to stay!!!

We absolutely love the location of the cottage! There is easy walking distances to great restaurants, coffee shops, and ice cream. In the other direction in less than a 5 minute walk is the breathtaking Hanalei Bay. The outdoor seating is wonderful and we especially loved the outdoor shower!

Tutu’s Cottage did not disappoint, clean, comfortable, terrific location.. The beds were super comfortable and there were quantities of towels. The large back yard was secluded, and manicured, with tremendous views of the mountains. I would highly recommend Tutu’s cottage.

We had a wonderful stay at Tutu's cottage. The location is unbeatable, and the house is sweet and comfortable. It was actually bigger than I'd been expecting, and has an incredible yard in front and back, with patios for each where we ate most nights. The outdoor shower looking out on the gorgeous scenery was my favorite part! The house also has all the beach necessities - boogie boards, chairs, a wagon, that were great to have available.

Tutu’s Cottage was perfect!! Amazing location, 5 minute walk to Hanalei Bay, 3 min walk to downtown Hanalei, Tahiti Nui (our favoriterestaurant), Food trucks and multiple restaurants & shops. Loved being able to walk down & grab a coffee, or go to the grocert store if we needed anything. We rented a car to travel the island but having so many places within walking distance was wonderful! Place was SUPER clean!! I was very impressed. The beds were extremely comfortable, and with fans on at night, we slept comfortably for 2 weeks. We only showered in the outdoor shower, it was peaceful, private & had beautiful views. My favorite part of the house! We cooked & grilled multiple nights over our 2 week stay, and the kitchen had everything we could possibly need. House came with comfortable beach chairs, boogie boards, cooler, buckets/toys & a beach buggy to carry it all, made it a breeze to go to the beach... which we did everyday. We've been to the North Shore 3x now & would 100% look into booking Tutu’s Cottage for our next stay. Carolyn was so nice & very responsive to all emails & texts. Thank you so much for sharing your gorgeous house Carolyn! We found it VERY hard to leave.

This home is very small and yet perfectly laid out and well appointed with everything we needed. There were umbrellas and chairs and fins and a cooler and boogie boards. We loved the outdoor shower and the front porch…and the back porch and the avocado tree. Paradise.

First, Carolyn is an amazing host. Quick to respond and accommodating. Second, the location could not be better - short walk to everywhere you want to be and easy drive anywhere else. Only inconvenience (and this is small!!) is there is not a dishwasher. Otherwise amazing. Outdoor shower in particular is awesome.

The cottage was very nice…old Hawaii style with upgrades as needed. It had all we needed and was very comfortable. The back yard was lovely…lots of birds. The local roosters wake you in the morning… We found the road could be noisy, but quieted down by around 9. It was nice to be able to walk to restaurants and the shops… also the beach is just a few short blocks away. We enjoyed our stay and Carolyn was very responsive if we had any needs. Would happily come back.

My husband and I had a fantastic week at Tutu's Cottage! It was perfect for the two of us and walkable to town and the beach. Loved the location and sitting outside on the lanai every morning having coffee and breakfast and watching the people passing by. The outside shower was wonderful (hot water!) after a day at the beach! My husband is very tall and the inside shower was small for him so he took advantage of the outdoor shower every day! The cottage had chairs, coolers, etc. and everything we needed for the beach and that was very convenient! Having a washer/dryer was a plus too! Carolyn was always available by text if we had any questions and our booking went very smoothly. We love Hanalei Bay and would definitely stay at Tutu's Cottage again!!! We will be back!

We booked this months in advance for our honeymoon! Was excited to show my new wife beautiful Kauai...We stayed on the south shore (in Waimea) for 4 nights, and was planning on staying with Carolyn in her place for 10 nights, but she double booked us. She was nice enough to find us a beautiful ocean view condo in Princeville for 5 nights (for no additional charge). Then we were able to stay in her nice cottage for 5 more nights to conclude our amazing trip. But, you can imagine being on your honeymoon and didn’t know if we had a place to stay for 24 hrs. All in all it was worth it to experience Princeville then hanalai. The things that were a bit of a hassle was: having to print out rental agreement, sign, and then mail to her as well as a personal check rather then just doing it all via email (digital sign) and Credit Card. It did save us money doing it her way, but I almost would rather pay more and not have to have the back and forth correspondence. There we’re also an above average number of signs with rules for her cottage EVERYWHERE in the rental home with STRICT instructions and rules (all was already included in several emails as well, but not where to find the key to get in). We didn’t experience the intenstity of rules at our other places we stayed. Make sure to bring a Bluetooth speaker or CDs if you want to listen to music and knives to cut food if you plan on cooking they are dangerously dull. Carolyn was very sweet and all in all a great stay in Hanalai with a short walk to the beach and even shorter walk to town. Quiet and beautiful back yard and where we bbq’d and did yoga. The road is quit busy with cars, gardeners and walkers though, just a heads up. But we came back to LA feeling refreshed and happy with aloha spirit! Mahalo!

"Tutu's Cottage" was exactly as described: Cozy, "homey" cottage, close to the village and the bay. The cottage is very comfortably, but not extravagantly, furnished, with beautiful hardwood flooring inside and out, and attractive landscaping around the whole house that give it privacy. Wonderful outdoor shower to rinse off the sand and saltwater. Everything was in excellent condition upon arrival, and Carolyn (the owner) was a pleasure to deal with. I would happily recommend it to anyone.

We have stayed here five or six times. This is a great place to stay. It is well maintained, and in a great location. You can easily walk to the beach, the store, and to several restaurants. There is a nice front yard, with a great porch, with chairs, a table, and ceiling fans. There is a large rear yard that also has a wonderful porch, with a table and chairs. A covered carport keeps your car cool and clean.

TuTu's Cottage is my favorite favorite favorite place EVER! It has EVERYTHING! Walk to the beach, to town square, chickens in the yard, an outdoor shower (and indoor) a table to dine or study out back, a front porch lanai, cable TV a great kitchen, what more could anyone want anywhere ever!!!!!!!
