I was impressed by the care and attention to detail in this apartment. It cleverly uses the limited space to the max and renders it comfortable. I could live here for months. I had booked this hotel, which is close to the station, because I did not want to be at the mercy of taxi drivers. However, every taxi driver I met in Lille took the shortest route and would even reduce the fare! It was the complete opposite of the taxi drivers in Paris, who rip you off at every chance. In Lille, you do not need to fear taxi drivers, so you can afford to book hotels far from the station. Of course, it is still nice to be close to the station for sightseeing of the town centre. I remembered this French blogger from Lille whose kindness and decency oozed from her words. Her dog was always more relaxed than the agitated pet dogs in Paris. I had thought the blogger was one of a kind, but maybe her roots in Lille may have contributed to her gentleness. When I returned to Paris, the poster for the new movie Battle of Charles de Gaulle was plastered everywhere. The honourable man from Lille who became the national hero, and I feel I know why, after the time I spent in Lille.

On my own, I would definitely stay here again because it is safe and clean. However, the buildings in Lille are taller than those in other towns, resulting in longer staircases. It is no fault of the owner that the first floor in Lille is as high as a second floor of other cities. My aged mother developed cramps in her legs afterwards. Thus, to answer the previous question, whether I would stay here again: yes for me, but no for my aged mother.

Ασφυκτικά μικρό και άβολο. Χωρίς ντουλάπα και με μια πολύ απότομη σκάλα να οδηγεί στο κρεβάτι, όπου και έπρεπε να κάνεις ... βουτιά καθόσον το ταβάνι δεν σου επέτρεπε καν να είσαι γονατιστός... Επίσης έκανε πολύ κρύο, ειδικά στην τουαλέτα και στο ντουζ. Με πολλές σκάλες για να φτάσεις και μια κάπως περίεργη μυρωδιά, αν και αχνή. Σαφώς και δεν είχε καμία σχέση η ποιότητα με την καταβληθεισα τιμή...
