Whilst we didn’t meet in person, the hosts were friendly and accommodating; they seem to have thought of everything! Whilst compact, there’s a good use of space, with is nicely decorated. The kitchenette is very well equipped - even a little air fryer and a cracking little fridge freezer! The hosts have even thoughtfully included an extension lead with usb ports for charging electronics..
There are nicely labelled toiletries and washing up equipment in the kitchen and bathroom.
We loved this property, but the things to be “aware of” are that it is an attic space with sloping walls, so it could be a challenge for very tall people (we managed perfectly well). The bathroom is not en-suite but situated in the hallway so you feel like you need to be decent whilst going to and from.. (I think we had the entire space, we certainly didn’t see anyone).
We had the window by the bed open one night but shut it as there was the occasional rumble of a truck.. I think that’s a “me thing” though as the nearby road isn’t especially busy..
the bathroom sink is tiny and a little small however there’s a sink in the kitchenette area, that was more convenient for brushing teeth!
None of this detracted from our stay - the nooks and crannies are part of the charm of the place 🙂

Great location for exploring the Peaks. Had a fantastic Easter break. Room was very comfortable, plenty of room. Tiny kitchenette area ideal for me, had everything I needed. Plenty of hot water for a shower after a long hike. Had a chat with Mark, lovely guy, very friendly and open. I would definitely recommend The Attic.

Very cosy, clean and warm. Comfy bed. Good facilities. Surprisingly quiet considering the proximity to the main A6. It didn’t feel cramped despite being an attic room. I was impressed.
Nothing negative worth noting. Ok maybe the loo a little cramped if you were 6’5” but you’d have to be pretty picky I guess.

I enjoyed my stay at the Attic; it had everything I needed: a good bed, comfy chair, dining table and a small but well-equipped kitchen. Parking right in front of the house was very convenient.
I really enjoyed a long walk I did starting in Chinley, which is only a 10 minutes drive away.
Dove Holes is not a very interesting place (but Buxton is only a short drive away).
