Bear Hug Lodge

Really helpful and friendly staff with a nice shared space overlooking the lake. Close to main road so access to supermarkets and bus stop but away from the noise of the main road. They looked after our extra bag whilst we were hiking the PotB trail. Lovely spot for a cold dip in the lake if you want to cool off.

The curtains for our room were very thin so did not block sunlight and was attached to a shared corridor so lots of noise. In the evening, had to walk through a shared dorm to access the room.

Perfect location with great views over the lake, close to the bus station, stores and restaurants. A cosy hostel with a friendly host who is also an experienced hiker and will provide you with all the advice you need.

The staff we interacted with (Emir & Meldin) were awesome and helped us with all our questions. Very chill hostel in an incredible location, with views of Plav lake.

I stayed in a four bed female dorm and it was small but comfortable. The host was very kind and had lots of suggestions of things to do and see. I stayed here before starting the Peaks of the Balkans hike and it was a good base to get prepped, and there are two grocery stores and plenty of restaurants within about a 15 minute walk. Also there were other hikers there who you could talk about logistics with! You can also store your luggage there for 2 euro a day. It is walking distance from the lake, in fact you can see the lake from your bedroom window. There are shared bathrooms, which were clean, and a shared kitchen, which was well stocked with pots/pans/dishes etc.

If you are looking for fast WiFi, this is not the place for you. There is also no AC and when I was there it was HOT (end of July).
