Sofia Guest House

Staying at Bana’s place didn’t feel like a guest house, it felt like staying with family. When I arrived she picked me up from the bus station herself and had several cold drinks ready so I could pick whatever I wanted after the long trip. I’d only booked a single bed but she gave me a whole private room, which she does for everyone whenever she has space. The room was super comfortable, the bed and pillow especially, and there’s a luggage storage room too. She cooked fresh, delicious food for me every single day, no matter what time I showed up, and introduced me to her family so we’d all sit togetherand talk and eating fresh fruits. When I needed a taxi to Prokletije she arranged one through her contacts at around 40% below the normal price. On my last day she even drove me back to the bus station and woke up at dawn to make sure I caught my early bus. If you’re hiking in Gusinji, you won’t find anywhere better or anyone kinder.

This was my second stay with Bana on the same trip, and it was the same warmth and welcome as the first time. She even gave me the same room since she knew I’d liked it, which was such a thoughtful touch. I’ll definitely be coming back.

Fijn verblijf tijdens onze hike tocht, host is ontzettend vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Vroeg ontbijt verzorgd voor onze hike dag en een lekker lunch pakketje gefaciliteerd. Wij hadden een hele fijne twee persoons kamer.

De elektriciteit deed het niet waardoor er ook geen wifi was, maar daar kon de host niks aan doen (had het hele dorp last van)
