Excellent and sensational

Erika is extremely helpful. She always offer advices and recommendations before arrival and when we were there. Room is so new and exceeded our expectations. The balcony is a bonus for sure!! Can't thank her dad enough for helping us with our luggages. Seriously don't know what to fault other than ready to climb a lot of steps (which is normal in Italy)

Welcome stay in lovely place with caring owners.

Location was fantastic. Great terrace. Erika and Aldo fantastic. Great team and made us feel so welcome and gave awesome support and recommendations of things to do. Booked restaurants for me when my phone didn’t work. The apartment is modern and lovely. Yes it’s up a hill and has stairs, but that’s Cinque Terre. Riomaggiore was my favourite village. If I am lucky enough to come back I would stay here again.

The perfect retreat after exploring Cinque Terre

The service from Erika and her family was simply outstanding. Erika and her Father met us at the train station and assisted us to our property, even carrying the luggage up the stairs. The property was modern with all the latest hotel features like turning lights on/off by the bed. Erika provided snacks and drinks also which was very kind. The balcony was perfect to sit in the morning for a coffee or late in the afternoon enjoying a drink after a day exploring. The bathroom was fine and had a good shower with dual options. Erika also explained and went over and above assisting us with the national park and train packages, providing us with unlimited use of the Via dell’Amore path between Riomaggiore and Manarola. We started and finished all our days walking the path as it was truly spectacular.

It was no problems for us mid 50’s but there are quite steep stairs to reach the property.

Our stay was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, Erika and her father went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. They personally collected us from the train station, which made our arrival completely stress free, and throughout our stay they were a constant source of support, offering excellent advice, tips and recommendations for places to eat, things to do and the best ways to move around the surrounding towns. The hospitality was truly outstanding. We were greeted with a thoughtful goodie basket filled with a variety of foods and snacks, which set the tone for the warm and personal service we experienced throughout our visit. The room itself was divine, incredibly spacious, beautifully maintained and with a wonderful view of the town. Every detail was carefully considered, making it a perfect retreat. What stood out most was Erika and her father’s genuine care. They were always available whenever we needed to get in touch, and at check out they were there to wish us well, which made our departure just as personal and memorable as our arrival. I cannot recommend Sotto Sale-5 Terre Affittacamere highly enough. The combination of exceptional accommodation and heartfelt hospitality made our stay unforgettable. This is a place we would return to without hesitation.

Great stay in Riomaggiore!

The host and her father were very nice people, we were picked up at the train station and received a warm welcome. The room is spacious, has a good shower, a nice bed, fridge, safe and a balcony. Everything you need. The location is a bit up the hill but the positive side is that there are no bars and restaurants in front of the door that make noise at night so it is relatively quiet. Riomaggiore is a cozy town and you'll reveive a QR code that lets you walk the Via dell'Amore both ways.

The light of the airconditioning is bright and the room doesn't get completely dark at night.

Absolutely exceptional, would recommend 100%

The accommodation was in the perfect location, modern and clean with a beautiful terrace with a view. Even better than the property though was the hosts, Erika and her dad Aldo. Erika was always very quick to respond to any questions we had and gave lots of very useful information, Aldo was so friendly and welcoming, helping us with out luggage, giving us drinks when we got there and there were croissants and snacks and drinks in the fridge too. Because I was writing an article, Aldo also invited us to see his vineyards and the cantina where the wine is produced and this was a highlight of our trip. When we got ill Erika and Aldo helped us so much with finding new accommodation where we could rest and recover before our flight and medical assistance. I have to say this was the best accommodation I have ever stayed in, in terms of the property, location and hosts. Exceptional!

There was nothing to not like, yes there are many steps to get up to the property but that is like anywhere in Cinque Terre and worth it for the view you get from the terrace

Our stay with Erika and her father was unforgettable! The room was spotless, fresh-smelling, with a great shower and coffee machine, and the terrace offers a breathtaking view over Riomaggiore. Evenings were peaceful, and the location is just perfect to enjoy Cinque Terre. Erika and her father were exceptionally kind and helpful, giving us great local tips, helping with our luggage, and even preparing a special surprise for our honeymoon. We would 100% stay here again – highly recommended!

Wonderful holiday in a chocolate box resort.

A real gem of a place in the heart of Riomaggiore. The hosts Erika and her father Aldo were very helpful and a wealth of information. A real nice family and very accommodating! I will definately be visiting again.

The essence of Riomaggiore under the kind care of a family owned business.

Erika and Aldo were amazing hosts and this place is absolutely charming! You feel as if you are living like a local in a village apartment and sipping prosecco on the patio during sunset was so memorable. The apartment is so well appointed with thoughtful elements throughout. Additionally, they provide a "local pass" giving you access to local elevator and trail.

The stay was amazing. The studio was very lovely, cozy, clean, and in a perfect location. Erika and her father were very attentive and picked us up from the train station and helped us with our luggage. Her father also helped us with our luggage again to the train station when we were leaving Riomaggiore. I highly recommend this place ❤️.

Fantastic!

Erika’s place was located a short walk from the train station, close to many restaurants. Aldo waited for us at the train station even when it was raining and helped us with our bags. He puts us to shame with his fitness haha :) The property was in the 4th floor so be prepared to climb up the stairs. We needed an ironing board on a Saturday night and contacted Erika just to see if she had it. Within less than 10 mins Aldo appeared with the iron board and we were amaze by the hospitality.

This was the highlight of our two weeks in Italy.

We had a wonderful stay. Erika was incredibly responsive up to and during our stay. The location is perfect with stunning views from the quaint, private terrace. The snacks and fridge filled with beverages were such a nice touch. Erika’s father insisted on transporting our luggage which was an unexpected and greatly appreciated bonus. The entire set up was extremely clean and inviting. During our two-week stay, our time here was the biggest highlight!

Erika, Erika’s father, thank you so much! You are truly wonderful hosts. They shared the latest local news with me via messages and provided helpful recommendations on delicious restaurants and parking spots for the next destinations during my trip. The room and location were absolutely perfect. I loved the stylish interior and especially the balcony. I even got to experience hanging my laundry on the rope like a local! When I tied my own rope from Japan to the balcony, Erika’s father happened to notice and kindly told me that I could use the built-in clothesline instead. It was such a lovely and happy experience. The room also had a train schedule for visiting Cinque Terre, and Erika took the time to explain it to me in detail. In order to reach the room, I had to climb many stairs, but Erika’s father helped me with my luggage both at check-in and check-out. Even though my suitcase was heavy, he carried it effortlessly, and I am truly grateful for his help. It was truly a heartwarming stay. I will definitely come back next time! Thank you so much!

Magical area but the crowds would be unbearable in the summer with tourists

Erika and her father went beyond what they needed to provide. Erika messaged the night before arrival and said she and her father would meet us at the train station to help us get to the property and help with luggage to the room. While we we now realize we are out of shape and we're prepared for the hillside street of the village or the steps up to our room, we loved the location, we loved the family and would highly recommend if your looking for an authentic, helpful, tight knit family and a beautiful stay. ALSO, leaving we were a little worried about getting down the stairs and to the train station with our luggage. BUT again Erika messaged the night before and told us her father would be there to help…. he was, with a smile and a lovely chat and walked us and our large case to the train station. KUDOS for doing it well and thoughtful!! Thank you very much Ericka and father, the thoughtfulness was more than appreciated! David & Dot

Un tuffo nelle Cinque Terre

L'accoglienza di Aldo e Erika è stata eccellente. È una fortuna avere due host come loro, che anche in una meta così turistica, ti fanno sentire a casa. Ci hanno raccontato le storie che caratterizzano queste terre e ci hanno fatto vivere esperienze uniche, come la visita ai terrazzamenti in loro gestione. La camera è pulita, completa di ogni confort e il terrazzo è splendido. La zona è centrale e facilmente raggiungibile dalla stazione di Riomaggiore.

Unica nota negativa sono le rampe di scale che servono per raggiungere l'appartamento all'ultimo piano (ma sicuramente non è colpa loro, le Cinque Terre sono costruite in verticale)
